I would agree except for the damaging penalties. We had no answer for Harrison but no team does.ABSOLUTELY !!! Rock solid and that defense will give PSU a shot against anyone.
here's my opinion on the penalties...pass interference most of the time is totally a subjective call. You want to call it on king, OK. But later in the game, on a pass play, the defender had a hand on our receiver's arm and a full hand of jersey before the ball got there and, you guessed it, no call. One call, on king, was made by the ref on the left side of the field, the non call was by the ref on the right side. if the latter ref had been the guy on the king call, would he have made it or ignored it as part of the game? Like I said, subjectiveI would agree except for the damaging penalties. We had no answer for Harrison but no team does.
It’s doable. Notre Dame doubled him all game, held him to like 30 yards. Esp with OSU’s #2 receiver out, why wasn’t that the game plan?I would agree except for the damaging penalties. We had no answer for Harrison but no team does.
Yeah, and Egbuka - who was out yesterday and projected as a 1st or 2nd rounder - burned ND.It’s doable. Notre Dame doubled him all game, held him to like 30 yards. Esp with OSU’s #2 receiver out, why wasn’t that the game plan?
Great question; a very valid one. It’s doable. Notre Dame doubled him all game, held him to like 30 yards. Esp with OSU’s #2 receiver out, why wasn’t that the game plan?

Exactly. As i stated in the gameIt’s doable. Notre Dame doubled him all game, held him to like 30 yards. Esp with OSU’s #2 receiver out, why wasn’t that the game plan?
This happens time and time again for O$U and Michigan.here's my opinion on the penalties...pass interference most of the time is totally a subjective call. You want to call it on king, OK. And we have been singled out for the worst treatment since 1993…got even worse after 2011.
Had enough fun yet?
Where are we going to go? ACC? Not happening. Officiating has not helped us, but we need to get to the point where we are so much better it does not matter. We are still hoping to win, not expecting it.This happens time and time again for O$U and Michigan.

The defense really played well but my one criticism is we should have anticipated that they would go to Harrison a lot. We needed to double him and make another guy beat us especially with Egbuka out. His one TD was ridiculously easy. He crosses over the middle, McCord literally lobs it 10 yards to him, no real velocity on the pass then he walks into the end zone untouched. It's like we only had 6 defenders out there. We had to know they were going to Harrison. It basically is the only guy McCord is comfortable with.OSU's first drive of the game they were faced with 3rd and 3. We had King matched up with MHJ, but King was in off coverage (5 yards off the line). Ball snaps, and King retreats a step back. MHJ is targeted right at the sticks, makes the catch, gains 8 yards, 1st down.
That should have been a press coverage with safety help. More than likely MHJ wins the battle, but you have to make him work for it. There was no work on that play.
Later in the game, we punt OSU to the 10. 3 yard loss on first down. 2nd and 13 from the 7 and they hit MHJ on a shallow cross that he takes for 28 yards. Dixon was on him at the line, but passed him off to Carter. Great play design as the WRs cleared space, but it's just absurd that we didn't design pressure on that play nor account for their best player.
The defensive game plan was fine if our offense was scoring points. At some point, you eliminate MHJ unless he can beat 2 guys on every play. Egbuka was out. Tate is probably a year away from being dangerous. McCord doesn't seem to be great, but he's good enough to go where the play is designed.
Yeah…that opportunity passed…ACC is in trouble…we (and ND) could have really bolstered it.Where are we going to go? ACC? Not happening. Officiating has not helped us, but we need to get to the point where we are so much better it does not matter. We are still hoping to win, not expecting it.
If I remember right, there was a defender going with Harrison across the middle but he ran into another PSU player, which allowed Harrison to be wide open. The defense really played well but my one criticism is we should have anticipated that they would go to Harrison a lot. Then on the scoop and score play why is King mugging Harrison coming out of his break? Did he know he had no help and Harrison would be wide open? That was a killer for us.
