Delaware to study restoring D1 wrestling

"Delaware announced the elimination of its wrestling program June 18, 1991, as a way of cutting athletic department costs. Title IX gender-equity concerns were not cited. Edgar Johnson, athletic director at the time, said annual savings would be between $55,000 and $60,000."
Including coaching salaries, scholarships, travelling expenses, etc? That number seems too low. What am I missing?

Revenue - Expenditures = Annual Savings
You know, I am so used to hearing/seeing such little attendance at low profile wrestling programs, I never thought the revenue was enough to dent the expenses incurred.

Also keep in mind that $55-60K in 1991 took you a bit further than in 2016.
