Delta Chi Assault

I have faith Franklin will take care of punishing them. This is effing stupid. Regardless if TCF and Parsons are defending themselves or teammates it is so incredibly stupid to be in this situation. Like beyond comprehension. If there are charges involved I call race card, because there is nothing there that should result in the courts being involved.

Thank the Lord we don't have a that tough of a week 1 game, but like this type of crap can get you suspended and could result in an L that keeps you out of the playoff if the schedule weren't soft. So incredibly stupid!
Barron just announced a Special Prosecutor will investigate:

There isn't, but if both parties are throwing punches, it is rare that charges are going to go anywhere unless it is clear that one party was merely defending themselves.

Lists starting in the early 1990s. When I first got to PSU you could just drop the name of the brother you knew and they'd probably let you in (especially if it wasn't a large group of guys), although it depended on the house. Then they went to a list system, which made it almost impossible to get in (as a guy, anyway) if you weren't on the list.

Guest-lists at the door date all the way back to 1986... i still have them in my garage attic

It has been a while since I went to a frat party ... aren't the events open door? So they selectively try to turn away a small group? Which results in some hurt feelings?

No they are not open door. The schools and nationals even tell them not to let in uninvited guests. Some of the football players were also minors.
Either way the party is on private property. They can turn away anyone they want. In Pa they can probably even Castle Doctrine someone who comes in their house without permission.

You would know better than me, but I feel like when I first got to PSU in 1991, they weren't a big deal, and then maybe the next year they actually got enforced (i.e. IFC would send people to try to get into parties not on the list and write up houses who were conforming to the rules).

Why do we care if there's more video? There was only one event, and we have video of it. There were probably 10 phones or more recording this, and they haven't magnified anything.

The only reason this is a big deal is because football players were involved, and some guys wound up in the hospital. It remains to be seen how serious their injuries actually were. In this day and age, you'd be an idiot not to go to the ER, just in case you want to cash in.

Sorry if that sounds cynical, but we've seen this movie before around here.

Actually, if you are a frat president at PSU and one of your drunk brothers gets knocked on the head, you should probably send him to the ER for liability reasons if nothing else.

Hasn't the program been on double-secret probation since 2012? What comes after that? Do they bring surma back to kill it?

In this day and age? It's more likely that there are a dozen more videos than this being the only one.
Hell, you can see another girl filming the thing right in front of whoever filmed the original video.
Let me clarify as you both make good points.
Let's hope there are no other videos with damning evidence.
If this is all there is to the incident, I still say this is a push/shove/not really what I would call a fight altercation.

Just saw the vid. Looks like it was filmed on a flip phone. It appears to me that maybe Parsons showed restraint and tried to break it up at the end.

I haven’t heard anything about this in weeks. Is this a dead story?
