Duh.

Take a look at last week’s Gallup poll and you’ll see why the Democrats are likely to get walloped (or Gallup’d) in the midterm election in November.

Gallup asked “What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?” The top answer: 15 percent said “economic problems,” with the “economy in general” getting a 4 percent.

How many people thought the “situation with Russia” was the most important? It didn’t even register 1 percent.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t be concerned with Russians screwing with our elections. They should be. But they aren’t.

The Democrats lost the last presidential election because they didn’t realize that the economy was the main issue on voters’ minds, as it always is. They are making the same mistake this year.

And since the economic numbers coming out of Washington have been pretty impressive, the Republicans — because they control the White House and Congress — will take the credit and probably get it.
