Democratic leaders in both chambers of Congress, huddling Thursday to plot a budget strategy, emerged with an early warning for Republicans: There will be no deal unless sequestration's spending limits are hiked.
"We need to stop these devastating sequester cuts from hitting our middle class," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said during a press briefing afterwards. "I want to be clear: In the coming weeks, our top priority is lifting the sequester caps."
