I seriously don't think I heard his name mentioned once. Hurst was mentioned - but only a few times.

The tackles for loss still stand out to me. I don’t follow other teams critically, so maybe the RPO means that you have to accept a certain number of TFLs... is this the case?
The last time we were ranked in the top 2, how many TFLs did we give up per game? How many TFLs does tOSU give up per game? I honestly don’t know... is this common?
I was PRAISING the offensive line, especially Ryan Bates. Gary is a beast. Bates silenced him.
The RPO is going to have TFLs be somewhat common just based on the fact every play started is 7 yards deep.
PSU dropped 42 points on the nations #1 D, scored 5 RUSHING TDs against a team that had given up only 3 ALL YEAR on the ground, held their star DLinemen Gary and Hurst to 3 tackles, and you still want to whine about a few negative plays? Have a drink, the act is getting old.

Gary and Thor with his long blonde locks were quite cocky in the pregame snips that I saw. It worried me that these guys were so confident. Maybe they were over-confident because neither of these guys were a factor. When Gary's choice of Michigan during the high school recruiting decision was that "Michigan had the best student union food court," I knew he wasn't PSU material. Great job PSU line !!! Keep it going one week at a time.
Plus when his mom got a job at U of M.....that was also a clue.
It's normal for any offense. We don't have 5 NFL draft pick studs on our OL yet. Michigan has at least 2 on their DL alone. Still yet, we moved the ball very well all night. They found out the same thing every other team is learning: you can either let Barkley have his yards or you bottle him up at all costs and let someone else beat you.
The inside runs that get keyed on for the dreaded TFL are what spring Trace for 70 yards rushing and set up our quick passes. There is a reason this offense is very hard to defend with the right players. You are entirety too hung up on Barkley getting 20+ carries and 150+ yards. That's not what this offense is designed to do. Having an elite player like Barkley only enhances our scheme. A couple TFL is part of the game.
Regarding whether other teams give up TFL's - they do when playing PSU. Check out the PSU stats.
I wonder how the New Jersey players and families are feeling when they drive past the I-99 exit of I-80? Are they still car pooling? I'll bet the parents with starters are in one car while the backups are in a different car. I wonder as they drive by are they thinking...well, it's only 7 more hours to watch another loss. :0)
He played almost every snap, but he got worked. As far as I can tell, their defensive scheme was to play us straight up. We just kicked their ass. Number one defense, my foot.

Should have been ejected. That was a targeted attempt to injure by spearing into Trace's back after he took at least 2 steps. If Harbaugh should sit him for a game on his own.
Basically all I'm saying is I don't try to get to frustrated over the negative plays. It's a big play offense. Plus, after all, it is just entertainment from my point of view.
Well that's certainly not the MO of the poster you were agreeing with. He was complaining about the lost yardage plays despite PSU putting up over 500 yards and 42 points on the #1 defense in the country. Perhaps you need to more closely read the posts you agree with.

I was critical of the run game and now am trying to come to grips with what might be an inherent part of the RPO philosophy as opposed to our O line just playing poorly.
Simmer down. You're whining about PSU's offense not being absolutely perfect less than 12 hours after PSU dominated the #1 defense in the country and you got called out. That's all.

I was really worried with our match-ups of both Gary and Hurst. I thought Fries would get toasted. But, the RS-Frosh deserves a TON of respect after tonight. And, our whole, YOUNG offensive line did a great job against a very good Michigan d-line.
