DID YOU KNOW, The United States Government has no "official" definition of the MIDDLE CLASS

I know you know where to actually post this.....and I hope you know a good therapist up there in Duuuval county.

So, it's (ahem) too political to point out there's NO working definition for the MIDDLE CLASS?

Oh good, let's give people more nebulous labels. It's a dumb mentality, but to each their own. How many tax brackets does the government have?

The MackDaddy poses an important question. In Pennsylvania, the "middle class" is defined by taking the past year of graduates from the University of Pittsburgh, and asking them what level of income/assets they think they have no chance of ever seeing. That is how the state then sets the lower limit of "middle class."

Oddly, Webster, also, has a definition of the "MIDDLE CLASS": Its the class of people between the wealthy and the poor.

Now I can sleep better, tonight, having solved THAT riddle.

So the boomers are correct.

As usual.

Speaking of riddles, have you solved the riddle of why God created you without a brain?

According to Wikipedia, the term "middle class" is first attested in that famous Baby Boomer James Bradshaw's 1745 pamphlet Scheme to prevent running Irish Wools to France.

The "middle class" goes as far back as the Greeks and Aristotle. Of course, he referred to them as a "middle".

What many here have no clue about is that America's Constitution is NOT a class warfare constitution. In fact, I think it is the first (and only) that is NOT a class warfare constitution. Why?

The Constitution was drafted around the assumption that America would have relative wealth equality and it was this wealth equality that would ensure the survival of the Republic. It would be the MIDDLES that kept things in check. It was base on James Harringtons philosophy that a Republic could NOT exist without relative wealth equality. In his words: Wealth follows property.

Now, back to the original point: Why does the US Government NOT have a working definition for the "middle class"?

Because they deliberately don't want one. So, most people use the Pew Research Center definition which, btw, is purely arbitrary - and, a joke!
