I was so distraught last night, I drove an hour and a half to get a hug from mom. She then made me hot cocoa with marshmallows. My life still has no meaning, but it was nice.
Not at all! I look to this board for my queues. The various personalities on this board define my outlook, mood, and approach toward life on a daily basis. I know just who's posts to turn to when I'm trying to decide whether to feel contemplative, angst, optimism and yes... even outrage
Ok look man, they lost 2 games in a row. Clearly the season is lost. Because of that now I have nothing to look forward to. The grass doesn't seem as green. Beauty has lost all meaning. I live and die by my sports teams and this team has killed me. Even the fact that my first kid was born 2 days ago adding another fan to nit-nation, isn't enough to lift my spirits after that loss. The only thing I have to look forward to is next......... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA! Man that's tough to keep up. Those people on this board are all abound and they're laughable. If a sports team of ANY kind determines how you live your life, you should probably re-evaluate where you are in life. And don't start with that "it doesn't effect my life, I'm just pi$$ed" nonsense. If you're pissed enough to come to a message board and post that coaches need to be fired and players need to be benched, YOU ARE THAT PERSON. Take some advise from CJF: "we're going to win with class and we're going to lose with class."

Well it seems so by the reaction of some of the posters on this site tonight! They won't be able to stand by the water cooler Monday morning thumping their chest and saying 'we're number 1'!
5 years ago this program was dead in the water! Now we are climbing out of the abyss slowly,relax people it will be alright. We're not ready to run with the big dogs quite yet but we're getting closer! The sun came up this morning just like it always does. It could always be worse ya know? You could be a Buckeye fan this morning!!

I care (probably more than I should) but winning/losing doesn't define me. PSU is the embodiment of nostalgia for me...it keeps my thoughts in an extremely happy place/time, especially now that I live a lot further away from campus. The older I get, the less I am invested in the team's W/L (already over yesterday)...I'm really just happy that they're on tv and I can see my University once a week in the fall.

I mean... I definitely place a lot of value on them winning.
I definitely value my wife, family, dogs and career more.
Still feel better about the world when Pennsyltucky is repped properly.

Let’s be clear. It’s not the kids it’s never the kids. They are coached and when the coach doesn’t realize the potential of his team and get involved and let them play then it is on the them. I was in a funk all week and I will be in one this week. It is not because of the kids. Adults teach them and they are accountable. When my teams lose, Yankees steelers psu im not thrilled!
I hope Franklin understands his role is not a ceo but a coach. All coaches, Like managers, know when to delegate, know when to let his team struggle through adversity and know when to jump in and take the lead. I hope because I am a big fan of Franklin that he understands this. He didn’t do it with Donovan and he did the right thing by letting him go but now he is doing it again with morrhead and pry and he needs to change and adapt as he gets more seasoned.

I think you know the answer for a very high percentage of posters is yes. We live in the video game-fantasy football league generation. Most here have not played the game in high school and virtually none of them have coached (as a paid professional). Some of us shuttered when reading the preseason nonsense that proliferated this site. Predictions of 70 point (and greater) victories over Pitt etc. A thread insisting that Barkley would run for 2500 yards or more etc. I believe most informed and reasonable people predicted 10-2 for this team. That is what they will achieve. Being disappointed that a shot at a college football playoff berth was in "our" grasp is okay. I have enjoyed 55 years watching and pulling for PSU and I've seen nothing from this team or these coaches that will change that. We'll win the next three and my sons and I will be at the bowl wherever that may be. The screaming riff raff can jump ship and travel to Pittsburgh on Thursday night. Glad you can enjoy PSU FB with your daughter. I've always enjoyed games with my sons. This program has always been easy to root for. Win or lose we love them and only the weak links in the fan base point fingers.
