Let’s not over-complicate things. Here are two of many five-star reader reviews of “Viking Warlord: A Saga of Thorkell the Great” on Amazon and Goodreads:

“Touching and thoughtful saga, based in historical fiction. Nothing mythological or fantastical, Mullaly weaves a saga which is realistic, endearing, thoughtful, and chock full of knowledge.”

“I bought this last night and was up until 4 a.m. finishing it. I kept saying one more chapter and then I'll go to bed. I couldn't put it down. I think Thorkell would be proud of this story.”

We know what we’re missing, and we’re not missing it.

My readers know what you're missing! I'm just sayin'...

Well, the old Rawhide TV Song said "All the things I'm missin', good vittles love and kissin', are waitin' at the end of my ride."
Hmmm. If you could turn ride into read.....
Ah, seriously, I am giving serious thought to ordering your book, but I am so far behind on my reading as it is, I might not get to it for 6 months. Perhaps I will put it on my Christmas wish list. In the meantime, good luck with the sales.

Ah, the trials and tribulations of an aspiring best-selling writer who knows that he's made a really good story available to the public, and yet struggles to get more than some hundreds of people to read it.

Thanks jovialgent. Hey, buy the book now and I'll send you a signed book plate with a Norse saying on it. Freebie--and the same deal for anybody else who buys it from here (as long as you're in the U.S.) Just PM me with your mailing address and I'll sent it to you.

I'm missing the board rules about selling things through the forum? Is that allowed now because we could really turn this place into a good eBay alternative for the members.

I suspect that are no board rules about it, and perhaps the fact that I'm offering an historical novel that I've written--presumably an unusual scenario--mitigates my apparent offense to the power(s) that be. I know I've done a very bad thing, and I will feel guilty about it for the foreseeable future. Thank you for bringing me to my senses.

We are talking about a novel here, not a shirt that didn't fit.
It's quite an achievement by a fellow Penn Stater and we should celebrate it.
If he can sell a few copies here, I support it. I doubt we're on the slippery slope to becoming craigslist.

Now don't be beating yourself up over it. Was just saying that it is a bit odd that with all the other random topics that come up, this is the only one that comes up where someone is actually trying to sell something. And a monthly thread on Norse and Vikings does catch my attention - so mission accomplished on that front.

Nate would probably say that Tomslist is overrated.

And speaking of insurance anyone interested in good term life, a reverse mortgage or a time share please contact me through the board.

C'mon, I'm writing about Viking raiders, not killing people like 'em. Nobody's life is in danger on my account. ;)

I agree and my opinion as well, huge accomplishment. Don't like some of the posts. ...here since 1993.

Hey, Ned, I've got no problem with any of the posts. We all take ourselves too seriously sometimes, and every message bumps the original post up to the top again. If a couple of people here read the thread and finish the novel, I'm pleased.

Great attitude. I am going to get a book!

Soupy: That's what I'm hoping for--people just being willing to give it a try. The ebook is only $2.99 (free if you've got a prime membership) and $11.99 for the book. Thanks.

Well now you’ve hit my price point. I’m doing some flying next week, I’ll give it a download and read.

It is fiction, but with historical accuracy, correct?

This novel is more historically accurate than any other novel about the Vikings I’ve ever encountered. By intention.
