Dotson is preseason TD King

Certainly an eye-opener, even if we’ve heard a bunch of good things so far during camp about him.

Great news about Dotson, bad that Shorter has missed most of preseason camp with an injury and we have no idea about his current and future status.

This kid is another Derrick Williams. They are about the same size and both are just natural football players. They may not have the measurables of the perfect receiver, but all they do is make plays. Like Williams, Dotson could be an impact player on punt returns. Give him the ball in a WR screen or on an end around and watch him break a big play.

Looks like he ran a ton of WR/bubble screeens in high school and looked unstoppable on those plays. Should be an electric playmaker with the ball in his hands.

More like Kenny Jackson in my opinion.

We got Dotson here!

His senior year Derrick had 4 TDs receiving, 3 rushing, 1 punt return, and 2 KO returns -- 10 TDs total, not Saquon-esque, but pretty darn good indeed.
It seemed like he was better as a freshman than was in later years. I wonder if our strength training at the time played a role, or maybe others caught up to him.

His freshman and senior seasons are among the 4, 5 best in the 2000s era. His catch, avoid, touchdown vs NW in '05 is legendary and vital to that team's success. I think with his vision and cutback ability he might have been better suited as a RB, but he arrived at a time when we literally had zero WRs. He was excellent in the return game to boot. Electrifying player.

We didn't win a national title and he didn't have a big time NFL career. That's the worst I can say about him.
