Amidst all the buzz about a possible 10-win regular season, B1G championship, playoff possibilities, etc. take a moment to read this quote today from Derek Dowrey on how he wants his class to be remembered. This is so well said and, for me at least, is the reason I'm proud to root for these guys no matter the win total.

You have to like the kid, he's battled his ass off on the field!!!

To Derek's Dad, think he is JudgeDD? That quote from your son is the very reason I root so hard for PSU....I want kids to come in here play good football, but most importantly, I want them to get their education. I think my interest in PSU would greatly diminish if we just became a football factory (much like my interest in the NFL has greatly diminished over the last 5-10 years),,, I hope for nothing but the best for your son, as well as the other players who are taking advantage of all that college has to offer.

And, that's exactly how he and this class will be remembered. For a very long time. The success that we are seeing and will continue to see needed a solid foundation and this class provided that.
 
He's the definition of someone who "gets it". Hope he enjoys the heck out of Senior day. These kinds of leaders are why this young team has been so successful.
 
Yep, and some here continue to rip him to shreds.
Dowrey - IMO - is, and has been, technically proficient (and he's a very good blocker in space)

More often than not, when he isn't able to get the job done, it is because he just gets physically beat

Seriously you are the guy who thinks he knows who should be starting on the O Line and not the coaches and who whines like a baby because Franklin won't call you to give you a personal injury report. Get over yourself and enjoy the ride - sometimes the glass is actually 1/2 full.

I did - indeed - try to underestimate you
Unfortunately - I failed (no matter how hard I tried) - I found that you are IMPOSSIBLE to underestimate
