Football Drew Allar is expected to....

Hopefully he's not rushing--after being honest last week I trust him but it's also very difficult for a kid to say he can't go for the biggest game of the year by far

Meh. I'm hopeful but, I don't like the thought of him losing even a bit of his mobility or accuracy favoring a knee that isn't entirely ready. I'd rather just go with a fully healthy Beau than a limited Allar (obviously I'd rather have a fully healthy Allar).

Allar is going to need to slide around in the pocket to avoid pressure, and make off-balance throws against OSU. He's also going to need to be ready to go and rip off decent gains when everyone is covered. He's unlikely to be able to sit back in a clean pocket and pick apart OSU's secondary.

This also likely means we're subjected to even more of Beau coming in every once in awhile and messing with the flow of the offense, rather than letting him play and get comfortable through a series of plays.

I still think we can win, but I'm really hoping Allar isn't compromised but trying to tough it out for the sake of the team.

Agree with you Purpose, but I'm sure the staff would go with Beau if they thought Allar was limited in any way. Plus, they may have decided to have him start but take the load off of him with designed packages using Beau.

If OC AK calls for DA to run a RPO, DA needs to be able to execute the R part of the play himself.

Safely and effectively.

If not, then they need to eliminate those plays for DA as they are fooling anyone thusly making it more difficult for the RB to find space in those situations.

We all know where DA is from. And because of that, I know that he wants to be out there to help lead his guys.

DA's growth and maturation as QB and team leader is definitely palpable.

DAs secret sauce is his ability to throw the ball. He also is very good at extending plays. Can he do that with a bad wheel? Beau is a good runner but inexperienced, especially against elite teams. I'll bet we see a lot of both players.

I'm less worried about him running/moving in the pocket than I am how it impact his accuracy.
Balls he could get away with against lesser teams he won't likely get away with it here.

Penn State is undefeated when Kaytron Allen runs for 80 yards or more.

The answer is to run the football.

IIRC, there were several running plays where DA handed the ball at the mesh point to the RB and came off of the exchange n a bootleg in the opposite direction.

DA did not have the ball on either occasion and there was no defender visible to stop him that could be seen on the video.

And those running plays ended up resulting in little to no gain. Wiscy's defense did not take his threat to run seriously.

And I am concerned that even if DA does not keep the ball on the RPO, that OSU's D may take the opportunity to take a legal shot at an injured area.
