I think we’ve taken the greatness of Drew Allar for granted as fans. Stats don’t necessary pop off, nor has he had the receivers of note like previous PSU teams. But this kid is an absolute stud that makes NFL throws and has the consistency of a top 5 PSU QB.

70% completion rate and 19-4 as a starter. This team is a well oiled machine heading into the playoff. Allar is probably gone at the end of the year so I hope this fan base enjoys the end of his great career. My only NIL hope is that our collectives pony up to keep him one more year.

Cheers to a long playoff run!

He just needs better WRs to throw to.
Wallace is ok but would only be a #2 or 3 on McSorely and Clifford’s teams. It was telling that only the TE seemed competent in the 4th qtr today as the wrs dropped easy passes . The problem is the wr coach and it is time to replace him.

Welcome to the party!

Some of us felt that Drew got a raw deal in 2022 when Clifford got so many snaps on a team that was really just spinning its wheels. Imagine where Drew would be with more snaps?!?!

Cliff Dawg finished his PSU career strong and led us to a top ten 11 win Rose Bowl win season. Allar is the most NFL talneted Qb at Penn State since Collins maybe ever for Penn State, but i dont take two 11 win seasons and two major bowl wins from Cliff for granted. Drew is doing just fine and #9 McSorely Jr is too.

I always say that Clifford is one the most underrated players in PSU history: he led this team to two 11 win seasons and Cotton and Rose Bowl wins.

I think he has really improved a lot this year; however, I believe a lot of that has to do with his protection. The OL has done a good job of keeping the wolves off his back.

Allar's the best QB we've had since Collins and it isn't close--the only debate is whether or not he's better than Collins
Imagine if he had one WR--just one

Thanks for the update, Captain Obvious.

Clifford threw for the most yards in PSU history. I know that Shaffer played in two National Championship games and won one against a great team, but he barely completed more than 10 passes in a typical game.
Most QBs don't start for 4 years in college--they'd be good enough to go pro early starting that early

Actually, the vaunted 1986 Penn State defense won the National Championship. Not Shaffer. Shaffer was a “game manager” whose sole job was to not lose the game.

He played in 51 games, and none of those were in the playoffs.

Clifford only has that record because he played for so long. He's far from the best QB in PSU history.

Sean Clifford is so much more talented than Shaffer. Shaffer wasn’t much of a passer and not much of threat to run, but was a game manager relying on a running game with a dominant D. Clifford was really good in 2019, the beginning of 2021 until he got hurt, and the end of 2022.

Yeah, not bad for a 26 year old playing with 18 year olds. Next he should come out as a woman and join the LPGA.
