Dumb podcast talk from MGoBlog and combating the standard talking point about PSU's offense.

Hahahahahaha wow, once again Hoke owned Franklin but not as bad as Harbaugh has. No one sees PSU as a team on the rise, they had a favorable schedule and had their difficult games at the beginning of the season, the last month you played no one except for some luck against UW
Jesus. You write like a half wit.

Gosh, here we have yet another fan of the single most underachieving college football program since stinking World War II coming over to the message board of the Champion of its own conference to gloat about a win in September. Wow!

So old true82 can spout 49-10 over and over for the next 9 months. Ooooooo, that will hurt ... becasue all we Penn State fans can respond with is the single number -- 1. You know, 82, ONE as in

1. The number of big ten championships James Franklin has won. Harbaugh? oops, zero.
2. The number of undefeated, untied seasons those underachieving wolverines have had since WW2
3. Th number of wins Harbaugh and his underachieving wolverines won over their final 4'games

Hey, 42, why don't you run over to the Iowa board to boast and brag. Surely Harbaugh destroyed the team that Franklin beat 42-14, right? The Iowa fans will surely bow to your arrogant, underachieving self.

I think this clown would rather the big 10 championship over a win in September. Clearly the programs were going in different directions at the end of the season. A couple things you could count on UM for annually...underachieving and losing to OSU.

49-10, Franklin will need to show he can be in a competitive game with Harbaugh before people start believing. When he kicked a field goal down 28-0 in the 3rd last year it was a sad moment, maybe 3rd times a charm??

Not too concerned about third place teams to be honest. They lost 3 out of their last 4 and most of their roster. You can only be a freak show for so long without winning the conference. JH has some pressure on him this year and next to win the B!G.

He probably should worry you, he's dominated Franklin. Stanford didn't want him to leave he was offered a huge extension but went to the Niners, and it easy to see York an Ballke screwed up not Harbaugh but keep believing I guess. Hell Franklin couldn't even beat Hoke, i look at next year as another Michigan win though it may be close if Mcsorley can hit a few of those 50/50 balls that he likes to throw

You guys who think there will be pressure on Harbaugh to win have it all wrong! Why in god's name would they put pressure on Harbaugh to win when they know they never win ANYTHING? Hell he's a Michigan Man...that's enough! That plus his sideline antics and bizarro behavior will be more than enough to keep them somewhat relevantly in the news. Geez, you guys need to view this through Maize and Blue sunglasses!!!

Edit.

"THE FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT, THEY GOTTA WEAR SHADES!" (forgot to add their motto)

They just have to keep reciting Leaders and Best and convincing themselves that they are better than everyone else and all is well.

ESPN came out with a 2nd Preseason poll with PSU ranked #5, which generated more dumb comments from MGoBlog posters....

For all the talk about Penn
For all the talk about Penn State's deep threat offense, I'm hoping we surprise them in Happy Valley with some deep threats of our own and that our newly stocked defense once again dismantles their offense.

Hmmmmm. Were you really that impressed with their "chuck-and-duck" offense in the Rose Bowl? Sure, it worked for them and kept them close, but it seems to be a high-risk proposition to win throughout an entire season.

People keep saying that like it mattered. Street linebackers wouldn't have gotten them any more scoreboard points, so I'm still confident. Harbaugh is light years ahead of Franklin so I can see us curb stomping them again next year

I think their offense clicks when Barkley is running the ball effectively and their QB is scrambling around chucking those deep balls. They more or less seem to be based around luck and big plays. It works for them, but if you can shut down one of those two guys they don't have enough to make up for it. Penn St. doesn't scare me one bit and they don't play defense well.

I think they're a fake. Not terrible, but not top 5. Probably not even top 10. They're going to end up being a ticket for some other fake team to get into the conversation after they beat a "top five PSU" team.

I don't think there is going to be any "surprise" about it. Harbaugh resides in Franklin's head. I fully expect to go into Happy Valley and pummel Penn State, as is the norm around here.

Penn State is overrated ...
Harbaugh has never lost in Happy Valley (haha). Our ONLY fear is that the B1G sends anti officials to manage the game. I believe it was something like 17 - 2 in penalties last time we were at Penn State. Even this year Penn State caught every break against ohio ... maybe a payback from 2 years ago, but whatever.

Mark it down ... Michigan will beat Penn State on 10/21.

Go Blue!

Not scared about Penn State at all. They lost their best deep threat, and if they want to play the arm punt game with us, good luck. I would love to see them ranked high and we waltz in to Happy Valley and dust them off once again.

Here's a start: Not 5th in the entire country for Penn State.

Those McSorely arm punts are not going to keep working now that everybody knows to just have a DB stand on the right sideline at the 20 and wait for the pick.

hard to believe you have this much of a "woody" for PSU. I predict Penn State won't sniff another B1G title while Franklin is the head coach. Why because he's a horrendous game day coach.

IMO - yeah we were a really good team that underachieved last year. I also think that we are way overdue to win the B1G championshp ... and that will happen, multiple times before PSU wins another.

Go Blue!

I usually pull for B1G teams in non-conf (except MSU)
I hope PSU loses every game. I think they're fraudulent and benefitted by playing OSU at home in crappy weather and OSU's special teams failing them. And it didn't hurt that Wisconsin has no QB.

I hope PSU gives Franklin a Ferentz-like contract extension and they're stuck with that clown for the next 10 years.

I'm super excited for that PSU game. Their offense was mostly arm punts to godwin who is gone now and Franklin isn't actually a good coach, though Moorhead seems like he is and would like to see someone higher him away.

Obviously Barkley is a beast but that Oline was still getting shredded all year. Think it will be a great chance to get a win that looks way better than it should.

Thinks being "overdue" is somehow relevant, and a positive force on them winning in the future. LOL -- That's gold.

And then this one:

I'm literally laughing out loud at this one. I'm going to throw it out there that Michigan is fraudulent, as they only beat us (Penn State) because they benefited from playing us at home and our defense failed us.

Besides all the returning talent at WR PSU has, I am very anxious to see the new recruits at WR come in and play. Some nice speed, and I really want to see what Journey Brown does and where he plays. Either at RB or WR let's split him out wide and Michie put a safety and play straight up man on a guy who run's a 10.6 100.... pitch and catch all day for 6 or have to play so far off it will be 10-15 yards easy pitch and catch underneath. Brown is my sleeper in this class. He could be used at multiple positions including on defense with speed to burn. He should be able to blow the top off any defense.

With the above said, I do believe we will see a somewhat different offense next year as a result of finally having a potentially dominant offensive line. I believe the passing game will open up even more at all levels due to better protection and play action as a result of having a very dangerous running game.
Agree. As long as #26 is on the active roster

I want everyone to be as salty as I'm going to be when you walk into that LIT, white out, night game against Michigan.

Some scores need to be settled that night.

Michigan folks are not as stupid as many believe them to be. They know they got physically pounded, mentally out prepared and simply out played. They also know things ain't changing much as we move forward.
They will not be visiting much.

Being a Michigan football fan can not be all that much fun. Kind of like a New York City cowboy. All talk, never any cattle.

It will soon occur to them their place in the Big10 is somewhere behind Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and possibly Iowa.

42-13.

42-13

I'm gonna rub that score in the faces of those arrogant pieces of you-know-what after all they could say is "49-10" without acknowledging, hey morons, there's a CHANCE the Penn State team you played last year was missing their entire starting LB corps. There's a CHANCE that we were still figuring out this new offensive system.

Nope, all they wanted to say was 49-10. Well, 45-13 to you too, including ZILCH after the second quarter, and oh-by-the-way 5 rushing touchdowns.

One last thing for the Maize and Blue faithful -- you keep believing this team will be done without Barkley and Giseki next year, if it gives you comfort, if it helps you sleep better at night. The OL will continue to get better and while not Barkley, Miles and Andre are no slouches.
