I am still a Franklin supporter, but I think his ill-conceived public proclamations that our team is great, but needs to focus on many of the little details that separate great from elite teams. We have a good team, but we are not a great team. Great teams don't have a receiving corps that drops passes regularly enough that it is results in a truly great QB who completes only slightly more than half of his passes. Great teams have enough quality depth that they don't have to play their number 1's so many snaps that they are fatigued by the 4th quarter and are unable to hold on to two score leads in the 4th quarter against quality opponents. I am at a loss to understand Coach Franklin's "Elite vs Great crusade". It was an unneeded distraction created by Coach Franklin when the staff and the team had a bye week that should have been used to put the disappointing ohio state loss behind them and had the team prepared to dismantle MSU here at home. There is no way we should lose to MSU here at home. That loss is on Franklin and his staff. I can only hope his Elite vs. Great Crusade is over and he returns to no-nonsense coaching from here on out.
