Republican adventures in governance continue. Emmer lasted all of four (4) hours. Cheeto trashed him. He's out.
The Repos want - and need - Democratic votes for Speaker, but they absolutely loathe the notion of negotiating with the Democrats. But we are now roughly twenty days away from another debt ceiling landmine, and a government shutdown that will be wholly (like 100%) blamed on the Republicans if they cannot get a Speaker elected and get back to the business of at least passing legislation necessary to keep the government functioning. This will make for entertaining TV watching.
