these are becoming much more important than Oscars. The big screen has been a mess: dominated by cartoons, comic books and dumb comedies (with a few exceptions). today, the big money is going to PPV like Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

Some of these are real dogs, IMHO. Maisel, for example, is hard to watch. I simply cannot watch a talk show any more (outside of Conan and Samantha Bee is embarrassing to watch). of course, it is next to impossible, not to mention bankrupting, to see all of these. Regardless, the talent level has clearly transitioned from the big screen to the flat screen.

"Schitt's Creek" is a personal favorite, and Catherine O'Hara is well-deserving of the Best Actress nomination. She's phenomenal in her role.

I'm surprised that the "Best Actor" nod from that show went to Eugene Levy, though. He's terrific, as always, but to me the nomination should've gone to his son, Daniel Levy, who also writes and produces the show.

If you haven't seen it, trust me, it's not for everyone, and the first season is pretty slow as the characters develop. But once they do, seasons 2 - 5 are outstanding viewing.

It definitely took a while for me to get from "I'm casually interested" to "I'm hooked" but I did get there. It could've been a funny but forgettable "fish out of water" story but they let the characters grow into something really worth watching.

I'm shocked 'Atlanta' or 'Stranger Things' didn’t get any nominations. Donald Glover especially - Atlanta was the best show I watched the past two years...

I put the chances of winning at about 0, but the Black Mirror movie was unlike anything I've ever seen....in a good way.

It was very creative, but it wasn't a very good movie without the choose your own adventure gimmick.

what is amazing is that I've never heard of several highly touted series on this list. Two are Bodyguard and Fleabag.

I also feel that many nominations are for years gone by (Blackish, which was GREAT early, but lost its way and Bill Hader who had an awesome first year but to me, left a lot to be desired in year two).

For the first time in my life, there is more good programming than I can possibly watch.

You may want to make time for Bodyguard. It was originally a British miniseries, so you may need subtitles, but it is well-acted and well-written. FWIW, my wife liked it as well.
