ESPN article has McGloin beating out Ponder

It's close. Ponder came in the favored guy and presumptive favorite, but McGloin has had a much better training camp. The San Francisco Chronicle had a lengthy article on this very subject a couple of days ago, and I am paraphrasing what the article said. Some folks have speculated that the Raiders may not carry three QB's, but I doubt that. Their OL is still a work in progress, and Carr could go down at any time.
