It's been a while, but under Joe, we saw many a team improve greatly during the first 3-4 games of the year, albeit some required player changes to do so. But coming from as deep a hole as we were in last season, is it no wonder that the answers dont jump out to CJF etal during the first week or two of Aug?

What I am starting to see is Coach putting names out there of the youngsters who are making an impression, and even some of the oldsters who are, too. (I'm sure he's also crossing his fingers as he speaks.)

Depth - it's nice to have it in Spring Practice. It's nice to have in August. But since you have to have it in Sept and beyond, and the fact we didnt have it last year at all, Im prepared for an evolution of depth, unit togetherness, and emerging leaders to happen throughout this season. ( but the sooner the better...)

And I still think it will be an enjoyable season on balance, which might alas include getting our clocks cleaned a couple of times. But it might also include an off-setting shocker upset! Who knows?

I try not to jump to conclusions in August, especially THIS August, while remaining hopeful based on the fresh new talent onthis team and some hot-shot coaches who are trying to figure out the puzzle as we speak.
