I know. I just watched that and I thought what a douche. You could see the negativity and anger seep through him as he was talking about Penn State football's renaissance.

Yeah Howard was just as bad. But I expect that from Howard. Silly me to expect herbstreit to be more professional. I don't think he liked Franklin's reference in that interview of nearly beating Ohio State in double OT two years ago. And we all know we actually won that game and that their national championship was a sham.

I have never been more insulted. They barely talked about the football team and just focused on the sandusky timeline and about why the B1G Champion should be left out of the playoff discussion in favor of UM due to their SOS and quality wins. Let's take a serious look at UM's "quality wins" as discussed by Delany (****head) and Herbstreit... nope they didn't even discuss specifics because their bullshit doesn't add up.

**** both of them, I hope that we ****ing demolish Wisky today... I wonder what they'll say then. What bullshit rationalizations they'll generate....

We have to take into account WHO the talking heads are and WHERE they went to school:
Herbstreit = Ohio State
Howard = Michigan
Put an ex-Penn Stater in there, and the conversation takes another road. We need to relax, don't let the frustrations get the best of us, and let things play out.

I've got to believe he somehow feels personally slightly by PSU somehow. His campaign against them is unprofessional.

Funny thing about the SOS. I noticed they didn't mention Michigan or Penn State when the OOC SOS graphic was on the screen; probably because Michigan's was 55th, and Penn State's was 12th. They did rag on Washington, but who cares.

I have had it with all of them! I was one of the people who left the stadium because it was raining/ snowing and freezing. Nobody was prepared for the weather. They are disgraceful and an embarrassment to college athletics. My hope is the lies and hate they spew will motivate our players to destroy Wisconsin!

He knows Franklin, Penn State, and eastern recruiting are a real threat to Ohio State. Who wouldn't want to play for a dynamic, smart, young, African-American coach while not having to leave the Northeast for the Midwest of somewhere else.

At this point, it isn't even about playoff positioning. How about just not being a dick? How about showing some professionalism?

Kirkstreit could pat us on the head when we weren't a threat, but once we started showing we're back and have to be dealt with his true colors show.

I was at the game and yes some people left because of the weather but the stadium, especially e student section, still was lively and pretty full. I just rechecked the tape I have and all views of the student section looked solidly occupied.

I did hear Howard the other night on a college football program and he was defending PSU saying they certainly should be in the playoff discussion.

Millen is worse! He would be decked out in Wisconsin gear today. I would love to see a former player like Lavar as the the third talking head to balance it out.

Complete and utter lies - I was at the freaking game with my 12 year old son, his friend, my niece and her husband. The freaking stadium was rocking as anyone who watched on TV knows - it was loud as hell especially in the student end!!! Unreal and Coach Franklin should tell this POS puke to STFU in no uncertain terms and stop attempting to put words or views in his mouth that he has NEVER REMOTELY EXPRESSED!!!

This is exactly right. Herbstreit was always very kind to psu at the end of paterno's tenure. They were never as big of a threat to OSU as they are now. He knows it and you can see it impacting his professionalism

Over the past two years ESPN has lost app. 1.5 million subscribers which averages out to (-) 2000 customers lost per day. This bunch of clowns won't be on much longer.

When PSU and Michigan were both powerhouses in the early-mid 1990s, OSU was more like a top 15 than a top 5 program. He knows that there is another state of the world where OSU is not that good. It's kind of pathetic, actually. Most of us just view these things as normal cycles instead of going on TV and trying to alter the outcome with spin.

If they try to return to what they once were, sports programming, they could survive. My prediction is they won't. Fox will continue to steal sports programming. ESPN will just take their current circus and add more clowns. They will double down on stupid and by 2021 they will be MTV.
 
He's a phucking GASBAG. Dont you get it yet? Win 7 or 8 games and you droll over a gratuitous Herbie pat on the head. Win more and challenge the UM/OSU narrative and his fang and claws come out and you're shocked. His commentary is no more researched and no more correct than your own.

I remember herbstreit being overtly sad at the end of PSU-OSU when the excitement in the building was through the roof. Something's definitely up with him re: PSU.
