Or, maybe Auburn is looking to save money on coaches in order to, ahem, afford the "honorarium" they provide to their referees.

That is one of the more astute observations I have read lately. Even in the NFL, the expectation is that rookie quarterbacks come in and light it up immediately.

So did the current Auburn HC hire this guy but now fires him to make room for a buddy from BSU? Sounds bush league but it’s the SEC and he wants to survive. Coach says “he’s a good man”. Who’s next after they travel to LSU this week?

They mentioned playing PSU and the coaches and admin thought they meant Portland State University because they would no think of playing someone with a pulse.

If they would have lost this game, they may not have won again this year. Coach had to blame someone to take the pressure off for a while. When you come out flat it is almost impossible to get into the game, unless you are in the SEC. Then help from the SEC and team speed take over to lead you to victory.

I wonder if we get help from the B10 officials at Auburn next year? I don't want it, but they'll probably be against us as well, especially if we area able to win the conference this year.

If my memory is correct. The boosters wanted DC Steel as the HC, but there was push back from the admin and several large boosters and him staying was a compromise. He was also in the running for the UTenn. job.
