Did ANYONE last year hear these words come out of a talking head's mouth: "well, everyone knows that vs. Michigan Penn State was missing over half their starters on defense, including two senior LBers, then lost 2 other LBers due to an incorrect targeting call and a knee injury, which allowed Michigan to score two garbage TD's at the end to make the score look even worse"? Didn't think so.
Can we get another big boy to fall? PSU has already won this weekend without playing. Would love to see Okie lose again. Also wouldn't mind seeing WVU take down TCU.
Some guy on cbs I think has us playing OSU in the Rose Bowl with us at 3 and OSU at 2 while Clemson will still be playing Bama but in the Sugar. For the life of me I can't comprehend how it could even play out remotely close to that unless we win out and they somehow say "well OSU passes the looks test so we are jumping PSU again and putting them at 2"

It's the same as both Georgia and Alabama making the playoffs like some folks are predicting as well
In all fairness, Clemson has played a tough schedule and beaten some very good teams. They deserve to be considered one of the best one-loss teams for the CFP if it comes down to that.Amazing how the writers at ESPN are already laying the ground-work for the committee to excuse any type of loss for Clemson. I wonder if they actually did their journalism homework when this phrase appeared in the print:
"All 13 committee members will know starting quarterback Kelly Bryant left the game in the second quarter because of a concussion. Clemson needs Bryant healthy, and it has a bye week for him to heal before facing Georgia Tech on Oct. 28. It was clear in the first half that Bryant still wasn't 100 percent recovered from an ankle injury he suffered Oct. 7 vs. Wake Forest. His mobility was limited, and the entire offense started forcing things in the passing game. While the Tigers struggled offensively all night, Clemson's typically elite defense also didn't look the part of a top-four team."
Did the writer just assume the members watched the game or did he call every member up to get his/her opinion? Pretty presuming on the part of ESPN to write such statements without proving someone's opinion.
Unless Va Tech and Louisville turn out to be average, then their wins aren't all that impressive. In all fairness, Clemson has played a tough schedule and beaten some very good teams. They deserve to be considered one of the best one-loss teams for the CFP if it comes down to that.
Syracuse was a bad loss, but Clemson is still a very good team.
Those wins are better than anything PSU has at the moment.Unless Va Tech and Louisville turn out to be average, then their wins aren't all that impressive.
At the moment...but PSU has big games coming up, Clemson pretty much only has the NC State game left to bounce back, and maybe the ACC championship game. Those wins are better than anything PSU has at the moment.
