FC: Clifford named B1G co-Offensive Player of the Week

Interesting that the "Big Show" that summarized the B10's weekend games also pick offensive and defensive players of the week. I believe there are 3 bozo's that pick them, and none of them picked Clifford...... Yep, clueless they are....

Really happy with his progress, and excited for PSU's future with him at the helm. One thing I notice he has to work on, too much air on the deep balls? You guys/girls seeing the same thing? Loved the way Blackledge would throw deep, hang on to it, and then medium trajectory with zip.

Can’t run the ball. Just ask tboyer.

I said he can't move like McSorley and I stand by that. He's fast enough that defenses have to account for him. And the 2-3 inches he has on McSorley in being able to see the field -- that is not trivial.

The best thing about Clifford so far is the decisionmaking. He's throwing hasn't been perfect but it's been good enough and it will improve. The best thing is he's seeing the field and understanding things and not putting the ball in jeopardy. I actually thought Pitt was a good game for him in that respect. He didn't force things and generate the turnover that could have lost that game.

Maybe #2 on his list of strengths is the way he shows leadership on the field and off the field. You couldn't ask for anything more in terms of leadership and enthusiasm. I loved how he stayed so engaged with the game after Levis went in. There was a shot of Clifford looking furious with an official's time out because the offense was rolling and he didn't want the delay. He's a good guy. He's got the makings of a coach someday.

He gets the yards. That’s all that matters.

I have no idea if the problem is too much air on the deep balls, but I definitely noticed he didn't give the receivers a chance on any of the deep shots he took. The throws were mostly underthrown. The one that Chisena caught was way underthrown, but he was able to come back to the ball and make the catch. His only INT came on a deep shot. Poorly thrown deep balls was my only complaint about the game Saturday.

Yep, I noticed that as well. One of those ‘bozos’ picked the Michigan State QB, Lewerke as his player of the week, yeah, the same QB who completed a mere 50% of his passes against that stout Indiana defense.
