FC: "Fast Eddie" says AG Kane should take a leave of absence

He needs to go back to the buffet and forget about Kane.

My favorite Rendell story is food related.

He arrives late for a dinner function, and he is real hungry.

Nevertheless, he starts yammering away at all who would listen.

While doing this, he starts eating slices of butter off the butter plate.

"Fast Eddie" opines on AG Kane's situation

Interesting, no public comment or recommendations for clearly compromised public figures Williams or Fina, but lots of advice for a duly-elected AG? Something tells me Kane is rattling the right cages and looking in the correct cesspools....

Can you imagine what Kane would find if she looked through Fast Eddie's emails :)

Meh. At this point, all of our former Governors are birds of a feather who flock together. That puts him among our opposition.
Let's just say that she's better off having Eddie (and therefore a good portion of the rest of the judiciary) in her corner. I exaggerate. Maybe only by a little. Eddie is still a player. You can be sure of that. He does make me grin because he's smart and in spite of the extra poundage, still "fast.":D

Honestly......would you think more highly of Kane if:

Fast Eddie was a fan?
or
Fast Eddie was a foe?
Of course, "Fast Eddie" was a "supporter" of Kane. Nevertheless, TTM is right. He and the rest of the old guard are status quo supporters, first and foremost. Kane has rocked the boat and "Fast Eddie" doesn't want anybody causing waves that will spill the tropical drinks he and his friends are holding while they're out yachting.

Is Eddie a member of the bar? Does Eddie have any opinion of Seth or Fina? Did Eddie try to run any interference for Kane in this or any other matter, ever? No, no and no? Bite it, Eddie. Oh wait, Eddie is a member of the bar. The bombing of MOVE took place during his term as Philly DA. Yeah, its still "Bite it, Eddie."

I should have rephrased to be more clear:

Honestly......would you think more highly of Kane if:

Fast Eddie was a fan OF KANE STAYING IN OFFICE (NOT resigning or "taking a leave")?
or
Fast Eddie was a foe OF KANE STAYING IN OFFICE (NOT resigning or "taking a leave")?

I'm pretty sure that Rendell is Of Counsel at one of the big Philly law firms - so I'm pretty sure he's still retained his bar membership. And actually, quite a number of Kane's staffers - including Adrian King and her current Communications Director - are quite close to Rendell and worked for him in close capacities when he was Governor. In fact, I've seen rumors that Ardo coming on board as Kane's Communications Director was a de facto favor to Kane from Rendell directly, as he's been among her biggest and most vocal supporters until quite recently.

You forgot that Eddie used to have Seth's job and that under his tutelage they Philly police bombed a residence from the air. Did he consider resigning then?

He just wanted those folks to "Move On".
I like how he says it's "bad for the office." Is that the same office that ignored Jerry Sandusky for 3 years after it knew about him? The same one with the authority to do something about CYS, but which did nothing? The same one which stood by while the TSM's records were vamoosed? Where was Eddie on all that? At the buffet?

would that be one of those Irish neighborhood bars where they serve gigantic portions of colcannon and bangers for lunch everyday?

Foe, but it wouldn't help her survival chances much for him to be a foe. By the way, and you might already know this, but guess who was a close associate of "Fast Eddie?" That's right, Chuck Ardo - Kane's communication adviser. It's all incestuous.

Few people know his temper better than former his press secretary, Chuck Ardo, who said that in his nine years with Mr. Rendell, he was "fired too many times to count."

The first time was in 2002, soon after Mr. Ardo began his job as then-candidate Mr. Rendell's Western Pennsylvania press secretary.

Mr. Ardo, who resigned of his own accord in 2009 and now works for Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson, said his first altercation with Mr. Rendell was on a campaign bus in Pittsburgh, when the candidate arrived to find a half-dozen reporters in the seats.

Mr. Ardo recalled Mr. Rendell saying, "Who are they and what are they doing here?" To which Mr. Ardo said he replied: "They are reporters. They are going to be with us for four days."

Minutes later, Mr. Rendell asked Mr. Ardo to have his resignation letter on his desk. Of course, Mr. Rendell had no desk at that point -- but that was beside the point.

"His volatility is very short-lived," Mr. Ardo said, adding that it was an honor to work for Mr. Rendell and that he looks back on those years fondly.

"Fast Eddie" opines on AG Kane's situation

After giving it some time, it looks to me like he made this statement to get his name in the paper on a slow news day. Certainly, the drum beaters have eaten the statement up. And, he may think he accomplished his mission.

As we see in this thread, though, all that he did is set himself up for mockery.

Williams is a pathetic stooge, or at least appears to be.

I guess it's possible Fina is playing hardball ("You'll have to fire me and defend it in court"), but I highly doubt it. By "highly doubt" I mean I don't believe it for a second.

It's a shame, he could have really proven a point by firing someone swiftly (in his own shop) when it was warranted. Now he has zero credibility with anyone that's been paying attention.
