And with it a new cottage industry for attorneys.and free agency has arrived.
Never a doubt. You can trust the NCAA to be the NCAA. By the way Micah SHOW HIM WHO THE REAL 5 STAR IS!In case there was ever any doubt.
There is not a universe that exists in which the NCAA wants to enter into a drawn-out, extremely public fight where they’re forced to argue that being called a racial slur by a fellow student-athlete isn’t a sufficient hardship. The endgame is pretty clearly to continue to grant these case-by-case “exceptions” until they functionally become the norm - and, IMO, that’s the right thing to do.
Bet some of our transfers will have to sit out.Of course putting this out there on late Friday. Just like lame scumbag politicians. Given this precedent, going forward any reason a kid can manufacture should be good enough to be immediately eligible.
Only those a-holes could manufacture a transfer like this. Can't develop a QB so let's buy one.
Then players have the freedom to transfer without penalty. And when they become the norm? Then what?
UGA is full committed to diversity and inclusion....I just wanted to play right away so I made some sh!t up.Justin's own words:
Fields released a statement through the university expressing gratitude to the NCAA and saying he did not regret starting his career for Georgia before transferring to Ohio State after one season.
"I thank God for His guidance during this time of uncertainty," Fields said. "I would like to thank the NCAA for its approval of the waiver allowing me to be eligible to play football this fall. I also want to thank all those who supported and encouraged my family and me during this process. While my case was pending before the NCAA, my family and I did not feel that it was appropriate to publicly speak about the circumstances leading to my transfer. In my silence, people began to speculate, and the story took on a life of its own.
"Now that this matter is concluded, I would like to clarify some facts. I have no regrets about my time at UGA and have no hard feelings for the school or football program. My overall experience at UGA was fully consistent with UGA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. My sister is a softball player at UGA. I am still close friends with many of my UGA teammates. A part of me will always be a Georgia Bulldogs fan.
"To Buckeye Nation: thank you for your warm welcome. I will work hard to represent you and The Ohio State University in a professional and respectful manner. My dad always tells me that “you can’t get to where you are going by looking in the 'rear view mirror.'” I’m ready to move forward and embrace the next season of my life.
"I will not be speaking about my transfer again. Instead, I will focus all of my attention on getting to work in the classroom and on the field – and doing whatever else I can to help my teammates as we prepare for the 2019 season."

Oh that will be just wonderful. Then players have the freedom to transfer without penalty.
Then players have the freedom to transfer without penalty.
Oh that will be just wonderful.
And the 100%-TOTALLY LEADERLESS NCAA continues to make wrong decision after wrong decision after wrong decision.
(Hell, even moving their headquarters from Kansas City to Indianapolis years ago was a stupid decision. They can’t even get internal decisions right!)
I don’t believe that the NCAA has much, if any, say in the college football hall of fame.Let's NOT forget moving the NCAA HOF to practically on the Notre Dame campus, no??
They were once in KC too yes??
I know this was expected, but a total joke. They are making a mockery out of any transfer rule.
Hardship is a complete joke.
