Guess: May open slots on the 25 limit in 2016, to the extent available on the 25 limit for 2015.

The issue is the 85 total ships which is limiting the class size for 2016. Also, the 2015 Class was full so this wouldn't help anyway.

We can back count 3 to last year, it is always nice to do that if you can, but it doesn't change total numbers because we are up against the 85 limit not the 25 limit.

I still Simmons is trying to work it out too based on a tweet a few weeks ago.

Uh.....not at all (in this case) Most (if not all) of them will still count as 2016 initial counters (since we were at, or very close to, the 25 max for 2015 already.......there may have been room for 1 or 2 to back-date to 2015, I can't recall for sure, but someone may have that info handy)......but, the tight issue for PSU in 2016 will be the 85 total number.....and in that case it doesn't matter whether their "initial counter" year is 2015 or 2016.

It would only become an issue that leads to being able to increase initial counters for 2016 if the roster gets SIGNIFICANTLY thinned such that their are fewer than 60 guys returning in 2016......which would mean a LOT of guys who still have eligibility for 2016 (something like 12 or more, I don't have the exact number) would have to leave early for one reason or another....which would be VERY unusual (for Penn State anyway....maybe not so much at Alabama or OSU ).

Zembiec enrolling early is important. If Hack leaves early it allows him to be a serious contender for the starting QB role with McSorley and Stevens.

I hope the then redshirt sophomore McSorley can win the spot but it's nice to have options.

You didn't miss anything! I didn't do one this week because nothing changed. I still have Nixon and Hamlin on commit watch. A bunch of the WPIAL guys went to ND this weekend and they are real players for Ford and Hamlin. They also will likely get Lugg.
