And it's getting amazing reviews so far from both the mainstream and geek community. Noah Hawley, the showrunner of 'Fargo' (one of the best shows on TV IMO), seems to have made a show that will appeal to both comic and casual fans. FX is on a roll lately and word is this is maybe the best comic book property on screen yet.

Look forward to discussing with fellow watchers!

For those who don't know, Legion is based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens) – a troubled young man who may be more than human (not sure if his well known comic book father will make an appearance or if this will change for the show - to be seen I guess...).

Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 30s and institutionalized once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of life in the hospital: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David’s routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which he must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him being a mutant.

A haunted man, David escapes from the hospital and seeks shelter with his sister Amy (Katie Aselton). But Amy’s concern for her brother is trumped by her desire to protect the picture perfect suburban life she’s built for herself. Eventually, Syd guides David to Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), a nurturing but demanding therapist with a sharp mind and unconventional methods. She and her team of specialists – Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris), Kerry (Amber Midthunder) and Cary (Bill Irwin) – open David’s eyes to an extraordinary new world of possibilities.

If Margo Martindale is in this FX show it's going to be good. I'm binging on Justified after finishing The Americans, and she plays a good villain.

I'll eat the flag.
Margo is in everything suddenly. Justified is a Midnighter favorite. Good show. Been waiting to see what Olyphant does next. I believe Milch is writing the Deadwood movie, but I can't imagine they start production anytime soon.

not to hijack, but Olyphant is in a new series on Netflix with Drew Barrymore called "Santa Clarita Diet", about a pair of California Realtors dealing with the wife suddenly becoming a zombie. Looks gruesome and hilarious.

Yeah, I read a review that said, basically, that Olyphant is a terrific actor who holds the show together.

Watch out for that Apple Pie hooch! ;)

Love that show - think she won an Emmy for Justified. Sadly, Olyphant was never really recognized for his great work though Goggins got a nom or two. Enjoy! Great show to enjoy with a good bourbon...

And they always drank good bourbon on that show. If I remember correctly, Raylan and Art shared some Pappy Van Winkle in one episode.

Yup. Show ran the gamut; had Wild Turkey, Elmer T. Lee, and Van Winkle.

I'm watching the Season 2 finale tonight. I got an inkling that Loretta is going to unleash her inner Mags.

Loretta is great! Will have to revisit that show some time though will admit it has one of the best, and most satisfying, finales ever.

Supposedly the sound track has lots of good '60s music. The character "Syd" is named Syd Barrett -- also the name of Pink Floyd's original singer/songwriter.
