The first picture of the complete 'Suicide Squad' was released this weekend and it's pretty underwhelming, save how good Margot Robbie looks as Harley Quinn. Some candid 'on set' photos have begun to leak as well, and below is a better picture of her. I personally love the look though it deviates a bit from her traditional outfit. Hard to tell if this movie is going to work - not overly impressed with what I've seen so far, but I'm cautiously optimistic they'll get it right (otherwise, Marvel is going to continue to eat their lunch).

Odd that in the movies this is true. On TV? Not so much. CW has done some nice adaptations. Though I prefer the JWS Flash outfit over the new one (though it's a nice touch to have him play Barry's dad in the new series).

The new Daredevil show on Netflix is probably the best 'superhero' show I've ever seen on 'TV'. DC has done well with Arrow and Flash (I watched the first season or so of Arrow and didn't feel compelled to finish it) and I know a lot of people love those shows. I loved Smallville too (the early seasons). Gotham just wrapped it's first season and I hear people are scratching their heads over the finale (don't watch it, so no idea what happened). Marvel's line up will improve too with TV-MA shows for a whole interconnected series of shows on Netflix - Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and others.

Still, amazing how poorly DC has adapted to film. They seriously have no idea what they're doing. There was a big article in the Hollywood Reporter about how poorly managed their film-verse is.

Season finale of Gotham was a doozy, but for some reason the fanboy critics are trashing it.

truth be told, I have loved the Suicide Squad episodes of "Arrow". as tight as this movie seems to be, I don't like how they DC movie-verse is shutting out the TV shows.

so stoked for the upcoming Netflix series, if "Daredevil" is any indication of the quality. Here's your super easy trivia question of the day:

what Hollywood actor cast aside his famous family name and adopted the name of a Marvel super hero for his career?

There is only one answer to that question....

Nicholas Cage?

yes, Nicolas Coppola chose to use Luke Cage's name for his Hollywood moniker so as not to capitalize on his family's fame

you had to post that disturbing image, dinchya Midnighter???

That looks like some old David Lynch or Roger Corman movie from the early 80's that never got made!

Apologize to Mr. Burton for putting him in that bucket.

If it wasn't for Christopher Nolan, DC would be flying off the radar.

I guess its obvious to state this, but seems like Marvel actually planned everything out, with their Phases approach. My only complaint is all the reboots and the fact that they had starting carving up the universe before the Iron Man movies started kicking this all off. I guess its a good thing, since X-Men and Spider Man (Raimi style) made enough money for this to all happen, but I still get bugged that the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver from The Avengers were enhanced by the Mind Gem in one universe and Magneto's kids in another. Is it too much to ask to see Spidey, Wolverine, Tony and Cap in the same movie?

And agreed that DC seems to be doing much better small screen. So why not integrate the TV show lesser characters into the entire Justice League film series? Why can't Arrow/Flash be the same actors? (Of course, I was ordered to start watching Agents of SHEILD, so perhaps small screen format serves comic stories better no matter WHAT the hero?)

Was anybody else UNDERWHELMED by the new Batman v Superman trailer? After seeing it I had two thoughts "Ok, cool. Looks like they're doing SOMETHING with The Dark Knight Returns" and "Oh, no. This movie might just possibly suck. Badly."

Oh, wait...I almost forgot. I never figured out what the big deal was with Margot Robbie. Then I saw a link from AICN to all of the Quinn photos, and yep...I'm in love. Wow.

I really think Marvel lucked out. X-Men changed everything (amazing that Singer, who made Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil, was the guy to do it too) after it became a hit. And really, that first movie was pretty awful. But, it had good actors and established a universe. Spider-Man was similar and with a guy like Raimi in the lead it was hard to fail. But, he showed he could by the third movie. Iron Man was a bigger risk than either of those to be honest - Favreau wasn't an established action director, RDJ hadn't done much significant since 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' (which I loved, but was a mostly under the radar hit), and Iron Man is at best a tier 2 hero in the Marvel Universe. But, RDJ blew everyone away and established a believable universe. Follow up with decent Captain America and Thor movies, and then hand the franchise over to uber geek Joss Whedon, and well, The Avengers was born to be unstoppable. Still, I have concerns going forward - Ant Man is interesting but no idea how many people will embrace him the way they did the others. Whedon is off the next Avengers movie too, isn't he? I think the Russo Brothers are back for the Captain America/Iron Man Civil War movie, so that should be pretty good. I just hope they can keep the momentum going. I do know that I have nothing to fear for the Guardians of the Galaxy - James Gunn has a firm grip on that franchise.

I have to agree. I've really enjoyed the Gotham series. and liked the season ender, although I understand why some have issues with what they did with Selena Kyle.

I'm about 6 episodes into Daredevil are am really liking it but wow is it ultra violent.
Since Daredevil has turned out so well I'm excited to see what the do with Luke Cage. I thought there choice of Mike Colter was excellent.

Yeah - it's almost too violent for me. I'd like to see a bit more of Matt, Karen, and Foggy and a little less of Daredevil to be honest. I'm at about the same point you are - just no time to catch up. This could be a great little corner of the Marvel Universe - we get Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones, but I'd love to see them add Punisher and Moon Knight.

Flash and Arrow are SUCH great shows, I don't know why DC is not using those actors in the upcoming films. stupid.

Agents of SHIELD is excellent, building towards the Inhumans in Phase 3 of the MCU

they better go TDKR with BvS. Batman better beat the living hell out of Superman and call him a weak errand boy, or I will leave the theater

I'm pleased as punch with the dark, violent corner Marvel is creating on Netflix. I thought Wolverine was an excellent film, then I bought the blu ray with all the R rated violence restored. it was PHENOMENAL. and I wanna see She Hulk.
