Well, you could be right. But, growing up with a gold spoon in your mouth, meaning you never have to work for that great position, is certainly a big time bonus. And, just in case you have failed to notice, "No One" has offered Jay a coaching position, other than his father! So, there maybe some truth to what was posted.

What was posted was not meant as a slur against these young men, it was merely meant to show how fortunate they are to be born into a coaching position. Was is a bit of jealousy over their success, probably.

There is a long tradition of this in college sports. Holtz, Bowden, Spurrier, Bellichek, Carroll, Shula, Ryan, Shottenheimer, etc. The list goes on and on. JVP was hardly unique in having a son on his staff. This has always happened and always will.

I like the phrase, 'being born on third base but thinking you hit a triple,' when referring to these many, many sons of coaches who have these kinds of jobs handed to them. Having said that, Joe, and a lot of these other guys, have earned the right to hire whomever they want, including their sons. But, that doesn't make it a good idea.

to nit pick a little here, I wouldn't put Bellichek on that list. By the time Bill came around for coaching, his Dad Steve wasn't really coaching for Navy any more. He had a bunch of different titles, scout being one, but I really think he worked for their Athletic Association in some capacity, other than coaching, as he was a local legend. He tried his best to get Bill a job, and the best he could do was work for Ted Marchibroda who coached for the Colts. He wasn't paid by the Colts, he was paid by Ted, lived in a broom closet and broke down film 18 hrs a day. Eventually Bill was hired by the Colts. This makes me put Bill in another category. Just my $0.02.
