Josh McKenzie, one of the nation’s top-rated eighth grade football players and wrestlers, announced Monday he will attend Bergen Catholic High next year, choosing the Crusaders over St. John Vianney, St. Peter’s Prep, St. Joseph of Montvale and the Peddie School, among others.

McKenzie — a prized 5-9, 184-pounder from Wall Township — is the No. 1-ranked middle school wrestler nationally according to Intermat and also is rated as high as No. 1 nationally for football, where he plays multiple positions, including running back, linebacker and defensive back.

I hear there's a 2nd Grader in Brick Twp, NJ that is No. 1 nationally in Basketball, Football and Baseball. I can't wait to see which Middle School he announces for in a few years! I'm all over his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Lol. I don't follow recruiting closely at all but there are rankings for grade school kids in different sports? Good Lord......

The article says that he repeated the 8th grade... I hope he improves his academic focus so that he is eligible to play FB or wrestle for Penn State.
"McKenzie, who repeated the eighth grade this year and turned 15 March 28, is one of New Jersey’s most coveted young athletes in recent memory."

He should be physically ready to play anyway. He'll be a 19 1/2 year old true freshman.

So you are all in a dither over a kid starting high school next year. Some facts: does he have learning problems because he had to repeat 8th grade; has he reached his growth potential; and here is the big one, will he care about sports in the future. Hopefully, he will not develop any career ending injuries.

PSU just had a freshman volleyball player give up the sport. I do not mean transfer; she gave up the sport; she was fed up.

Wooooooo Nelly, did you catch the tail on that sperm as it raced towards that egg, broke down and dove inside perfectly. That sperm had some Southern Speed!!

Only funny if it was meant to be funny and not one of those let's video a fight and post it on Facebook or other social media site.
Yes. True. I meant in the context of his response. I wasn't thinking that it was real. It might be though. If so, that aspect of it would not be funny.

Hope he has suitable living arrangements. Wall to Oradell is not an insignificant commute, with rush hour traffic both ways.
