holds a key into the JS mess. RMB suggests a BOT memeber knows what happened to Gricar. Some good stuff here.

Gricar

IMO the comments are worth the read, not the typical Joe had to know stuff

things realative to an investigation.

Just a reference to a meeting in Fall 1998

with Ganter and the detectives that investigated JS in May '98. Have no idea what that Fall '98 meeting was in reference to. That said, I would like to hear from Ganter on this JS fiasco

I was unaware of the cigarette ashes on the floor of the car

the laptop, separate from the hard drive, along with that evidence, suggests somebody took him. I'd also have to say that his body would have almost assuredly shown up at some point.

He was killed by somebody that wanted him dead. I am not sure how you can come to any other conclusion, frankly.

Re: I was unaware of the cigarette ashes on the floor of the car

2nd Mile "cash cow"; husband and wife running the show; BOT using PSU as their very own "country club"; real estate dealings; politician contributions; etc...

All this activity behind the scenes of a squeeky-clean Penn State facade. Who would ever know? Yes. I, too, believe that it is highly probable foul play was involved. Too much money and reputations at stake for there not to be.

Man! Ignorance is truly bliss. Everyone was fooled about "Happy Valley", including me.

it looks that way to me. If he were in the river, his body would have show

shown up by now, therefore I think his body is in a coal mine or not joking, the wood chipper.

Yeah, the general public has alway thought that the Gricar thing had legs..

Who knows? Maybe it does.

But, they are willing to buy into the Gricar narrative, and that would be a game-changer if true.

But if you wanted to get rid of a laptop and hard drive

you wouldn't just throw it in the river next to where his car was found. And the internet searches about wiping a hard drive are the most confusing part

maybe the guys that took the laptop put those on there to throw off

the investigation. Probably pretty easy to do.

that search isn't all that unusual...

especially for a guy that was getting a new laptop or had authority over laptops...or a guy who was about to retire. I do that search, about once a year, when I or someone in my family gets or gives a PC.

Jonathan Jacobs. smh.

The guy is obsessed with two things:
1) Ray Gricar's disapearance.
2) Joe Paterno's cover-up of Sandusky.

I gotta wonder - is the reason this guy is so obsessed is because he's somehow connected to all of this?

I'm sure there is an organization out there that was propping up Sandusky that was involved in Gricar's disapearance

How much money do you think was donated to that organization over the years? Millions and millions of dollars. Where are the books? How much does it cost to run a summer camp? It would be one of the easiest places in the world for people to line their pockets.

Also, a charity must have a lot of cash if its able to throw money at political candidates. Why would they do this? Wouldn't the money be better spent to help accomplish the mission of the charity? It's the age old story of greasing the palms of politicians to keep them off your back. After the lid blew off it would have been political suicide for anyone to admit a connection to TSM. Those people ran away and were thrilled when Freeh was paid to blame everything on Penn State.

Re: I was unaware of the cigarette ashes on the floor of the car

Before Freeh and his circus came to town, the 2nd Mile should have been hit with a forensic accountant and a search warrant. Once they were allowed to burn the books, shred everything and leave town it was over.

I remember Blehar's story about a Philadelphia police investigator named Greg Bucchiari that as a kid was brought to a Second Mile event by Ed Savitts, a man that was well connected to the political arena in Philly and a major pedophile. The story went to the effect that he was taken there to have a paid sexual encounter with Jerry Sandusky. Bucchiari made a statement about numerous men in well dressed attire walking around with nude pictures of little boys that were part of the Second Mile family. This leads me to believe that there was a pedophile ring that involved a lot of very high profile people. I'm thinking on the lines of Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians, etc whose names could have been on Ray Gricar's hard drive. Organized crime is usually involved in any high profile illegal activity such as this, so my guess is this is what Gricar came across in his JS investigation and what probably cost him his life. I still wonder today why the pedophile ring involvement that was tied to TSM never got any press when so many in the media blamed PSU for all the victims!

To be clear, The Second Mile never made donations to political campaigns. The IRS strictly prohibits 501(c)(3) organizations from making political donations. Several TSM board members, acting as individuals, made significant donations to Corbett's gubernatorial campaign. Corbett had approved a $3 million state grant to TSM in July 2012 to help build a new HQ and program delivery building near the University Park Airport. Corbett said that he allowed the grant to go through in order to keep the grand jury investigation from being exposed. The grant was scotched, of course, and the land has since been resold, I believe.

I'm sure the 990's for The Second Mile are a matter of public record.

The U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced in early February 2012 that he was investigating connections between Penn State, C/S/S and TSM. No public developments since. I'm still waiting to see evidence that TSM was "laundering" money for board members of TSM or Penn State or for Corbett's political campaign. Maybe the investigation is ongoing, but it's surely taking a long time.

I find it interesting that part of the defense of Penn State for some posters here resides in Curley telling Raykovitz about McQueary walking in on Sandusky in the Lasch shower, thereby meeting Penn State's obligation to report, but in all other ways TSM was a den of iniquity. Frankly, Curley telling Raykovitz about Sandusky is a lot like telling your favorite uncle that your brother stole a bike. Your uncle is not going to call the cops and probably not going to tell your parents. The public believes that TSM was an administrative appendage of Penn State. For all intents and purposes, maybe it was. Curley notifying Raykovitz buys Penn State no relief from perceptions of a cover-up.

Why did Penn State's settlements with Sandusky's victims include legally binding pledges not to sue TSM? A damn good question without an answer so far.

Re: I was unaware of the cigarette ashes on the floor of the car

I never said whether they as an organization were making political contributions or not. The organization collected a lot of cash donations. That certainly creates an atmosphere for ease of "knocking down" a few sheckles for oneself or one's cronies off the books. There was all set to be an investigation by Lynne Abraham. What happened there?

Somebody decided to scrap it because the organization was closing. That's very convenient. That's like if my favorite uncle runs a chop shop and all of a sudden he finds out the police have a car thief in custody who starts to implicate him and your favorite uncle decides to shut his doors. Well, no reason to investigate him then.

Of course it is a lot easier to make significant donations when you are making a significant salary and skimming money from a 501(c)(3) organization. Like say Jack (Just Wear Swim Trunks) Raykovitz, the man who never came under ANY scrutiny despite everything pointing at him.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm!

I still wonder whether Raykovitz will appear as a witness for the Commonwealth if and when C/S/S go to trial. That would explain why Raykovitz/TSM have escaped scrutiny. That's pure speculation, of course.
