FC/TO: Tsarnaev sentenced to death. **

I can understand why they did this, but the last thing the world needs is another Muslim martyr on a big stage.

He did bad so he deserves what he gets but in a way I feel bad for him because he was so young and his idiot brother was a big influence. If one of them had to die quickly and the other had to go through a trial and face death down the road then I wish it was reversed so the older brother that was the instigator could have stewed in the fact that his idiocy got his 19 year old brother killed and then stewed in facing execution. The older brother was the instigator and yet in the end he got off the easiest by getting a quick death before being captured.

While I aligned with Lionlurker's sentiments about creating another " Martyr" .... There is no way I feel bad for this phockfayce... May his 40 virgins each have various yeast/urinary tract infections

I wouldn't worry about it. They can talk up the "martyr" aspect all they want but their actions betray them. If becoming a martyr was such a worthy goal then they wouldn't be hiding in caves and sending out tape-recording of their messages while in hiding (like the head of ISIS supposedly did today).

Are those that would treat the Boston bomber as a hero really going to treat him any differently if he's put to death rather then just locked away in prison for life? Likely not. The martyr angle is just used to claim some sort of victory in the face of their failures.

He wouldn't have been in the general population.
Sorry, I was speaking hypothetically. Just saying that the death penalty isn't the worst thing he can face. Being put in Gen Pop would be the worst possible thing for him, although I realize it would never happen.

When is the last time Mass executed anybody? He'll live longer than Mumia. Actually, sixty or so years behind bars sounds like a better idea.

How do you prevent another Tsarnaev. That is THE question. The Unabomber did far worse and over the course of years. Yet, he is still alive. I don't know the answer. But, humans killing humans has to stop. Sooner or later, the answer can't always be (and should not be) DEATH.

This kid put what exactly in his backpack? What will we do when even more sophisticated killing tools are available to the common Joe, in the not too distant future? What then? What about the future Tsarnev 50-75 years from now? How many people will he kill using the weapons available in that future?

Prevention is obviously the key. And, that can only be done through education and psychology. Not just the United States but the entire world needs to start rethinking our present educational system and start thinking of a better way.

Believe me. If we don't, I assure you, there will be FUTURE Unabombers, Timothy McVeigh and Tsarnev. And, the destruction they will lay will be far, far worse.

Education Michael???? Education???

SMH.

MAN WILL NEVER END WHAT YOU SEE. EVER.
Why is it that educated people are less religious? Less likely to commit crimes? What made people like our forefathers different? Unless society changes, there will always - and, I do mean ALWAYS - be future ISIS, McVeigh, Tsarnaev and the Unabomber.....just with more ADVANCED weaponry.

He placed a bomb feet away from an 8 year old boy who was 4'5" and about 70 pounds. The no-good piece of shiat is getting what he deserves.

Felli makes a good point - there will always be terrorists, there will always be those who believe they are martyrs. It won't stop.

That said, the jury can only issue a verdict in the case in front of them. This was the decision they made, and this young man will lose his life for his involvement in the bombings.

Any word yet from the insane mother? One look at her, and you can see where those two boys came from. No wonder dad went nuts and left her.

Just to be clear, I am neither condoning nor disagreeing with the jury's verdict. It is what it is. He has been sentenced.

However, as you pointed out, this verdict only solves the Tsarnaev case, not FUTURE cases. That's the issue at hand. And, unless society changes, this will NEVER EVER stop.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of wannabe Tsarnaev's alive today and more than willing to do exactly what he did, too - maybe, even worse. And, don't ever forget, McVeigh was a war hero and an American through and through. Look what he did.

Yeah- I'm sure we will hear plenty from her soon. As for the 'martyr' issue- just watch how they try to fight the death penalty and you see what a crock that position is. If it was the goal to die as a martyr they should be welcoming the death penalty with no appeals at all. I'm guessing they appeal every chance they get.
