The Fearless Warrior
(Navy SEAL Romances 2.0)
by Kimberly Krey (Goodreads Author)

When Jace moves in with Amy to protect her from a predator, romance blooms, and Amy wonders who will protect her heart.

Denver’s Average Amy does TV reviews for the latest trends, but when her name ends up on a human trafficking website, life feels anything but average. Especially when old crush turned hot Navy SEAL Jace Burns shows up at her door offering protection. Protection from who? What? And did she already mention hot?
Jace Burns is known for his fearless nature. He’s risked his life overseas, endured time as a prisoner of war, and was even presumed dead. Too bad all that goes out the window when he comes face to face with Amy Nelson. He hadn’t paid close attention to her in high school but he’s paying attention now.

While romantic sparks fly and the danger begins to grow, one question fills Amy’s mind: Are Jace’s feelings real, or is he using her to help take down the threat?

I couldn't decide who I wanted to win that match, but I found myself pulling for Nick as the match went on. Neither took many shots (if any), but Nick was the aggressor the entire match and deserved to win. He got what he wanted at the place where he ultimately wanted to be. It was nice to see Shak and Nolf congratulate him. Just shows that the kids move on a lot quicker than adults do.

I found myself in the same boat in many matches......on the biggest of stages and on the edges. You start out ambivalent, but don’t finish that way.

I concur totally but might add that at one point I couldn't decide if I was pulling more for Nick or against the OSU bench. ( seems that they are challenging the Iowa coaches as the hardest for me to take)

Waiting for some incoming Matterz hate..

That was the most tainted victory in the finals since Oliver/Stieber. Why they stopped the overtime period with Suriano having no chance of getting out is totally beyond me and the headgear challenge was legit. But he topped it off by saying Fix quit during the postmatch interview. Classy.

In the interest of the sport, Suriano and Fix should never be allowed to wrestle again. Just fugly.

I'll just wait for next year. It's gonna be fun.

While I agree it was questionable to stop Fix's Boots in ride in OT, the refs did, and he needed to adjust. Fix still had every opportunity to win after that period ended. Suriano was the aggressor the entire match, while Fix was content to dance on the boundary. I think he took 1 shot the entire match. He deserved to lose, and like him or not Nick worked to win.

I know that you hate Rutgers for whatever reason, but at some point you should really get over it. They are barely relevant as a program in comparison to PSU. We won 3 individual titles and the team title by 40+ points last night and we still had some posters who were acting disappointed. Last night marked the greatest athletic achievement in their school's history. Let them enjoy it a little bit. Perspective.

My issue with Rutgers is Goodale's "relevant by my proclamation" approach which ignores actual results. I'd argue that 106 points in the 2016 B1Gs, having 10 finishers in the top 8 and qualifying 10 for the NCAA tournament was their most impressive team accomplishment (maybe the 1976 final four appearance in 1976 also) in any sport. Compare that to this year's 53 points and four top 8 placers and you should get the point.

I'll get over it next year.

I won't belabor the point, but why do you even care what Coach Goodale says about anything? The guy isn't even on the radar as a wrestling coach let alone as a sports figure. I agree that 2016 was a better overall team for Rutgers, but it yielded little in actual results. Contrast that with last night where they crowned the first two national champions in program history. That might not mean much to us, as we expect this on a yearly basis, but for Rutgers this was a once in a lifetime experience for their fans.

Well it looks like RU is now officially a big boy.

Ashnault (2019) = 21.0
Suriano (2020) = 23.0
rest of the team = 7.5

Congrats to Rutgers, they earned their 10th place finish, but it's unsustainable. And except for Ferrari (who's uncommitted -- and a PA resident), they've already missed the best of NJ in 2019 and 2020.

4.5 of the "rest" is JVB, who is also graduating. The "success" of the two best wrestlers in NJ HS wrestling history is, frankly, not that impressive but it is a smokescreen to the downhill slide of the program the last four years. No one will address it. You go from 106 points at B1Gs with 10 guys in the top 8 in 2016 to 53 points and 4 in the top 8 in 2019 and you are told to look at something else. What will they have next year? Suriano and Grello, who got 2 points this year, and Lipari, who got one. And all 3 are seniors next year. The cliff is approaching. Points from non-seniors to be? 0. Count 'em. Zero.

Look at Mekhi Lewis. Not one of the two best careers in NJ HS history, he goes to VT and wins a title as a freshman.

They have some really good guys coming in but as history has proven getting them and developing them are two different things.

That stalemate call during the rideout is a pretty consistent call in that situation from what I’ve seen over the years, also it wasn’t like he had Suriano flat on the mat Suriano was on all fours at the time of the call. I like what J’den Cox had to say about the match during the post finals show they did where he kind of related it to playoff basketball where they let you get away with things they normally wouldn’t in the regular season. No one wants to see someone win a title on some type of penalty point and J’den also said he felt Suriano had timed the shot perfectly and didn’t feel the “aledged” head gear grab played a part in that. The OSU staff seemed he’ll bent on winning that match off some type of penalty Fix barely tried to engage that entire match so I have no problem with the outcome felt the better guy won in that spot.

They’re in a better place now then they were before with Pritzlaff on the staff and Humphrey running the NJRTC

Your obsession with Rutgers is worrisome.

The failure to answer the question is worrisome. No one ever does it. And it doesn't address the significant drop-off in dual meet performance over the same period. We get the absurd "party line" that the program is on the rise. It's just not true. It's been a steady decline since the 2015-16 season as a program, notwithstanding some limited individual success.

Then how do you explain the slide from 2016 to 2019 in B1Gs?
I mean it’s not really a secret they had a better line up for the most part in 2016 then they did this year but I can’t understand how you’d think they’re on some kind of downward spiral now with what they’ve been able to acquire these last couple of years in terms of coaching the RTC and their new wrestling facility they’re about to get. Also don’t know whether or not you’ve ever been around a building program but the fact they just had 2 national champions is a really big deal for recruiting which already hasn’t been that bad for them recently
