So, we're all (or at least quite a few of us) are concerned about the federal deficit and debt. Wonder why?
Story in the centre daily times this morning concerning the Pennsylvania state budget. The state depends on the federal government for approximately 40% of it's annual budget. i know this might be a crazy question for some, but if Pa depends on the federal government for it's budget then in all likelihood so do the other states, albeit in differing percentages. Aren't we just transferring expenses from the states to the Federal deficit? How have we gotten to a point where state bills are simply passed upward? No wonder states spend the way they do. They simply pass the bill - or in Pa's case 40% of it to the federal government.
If states truly want independence from federal oversight, maybe we should look at changing this dynamic.
