CARTER FILM STUDY vs. MARYLAND

See Link Above. Put Abdul Carter under the microscope to showcase the night-and-day difference in his technical acumen as a DE/EDGE from Sept. to today. If you remember, back during spring ball, we clipped Carter's 50 or so snaps as a true on-ball DE from 2023 and did a Film Study about how he was totally raw/didn't have a clue what he was doing (understandable). We didn't notice a huge leap from spring to the start of the season, but ever since the OSU game he's been a different dude (credit Barnes) and really the only special Wild Card game-changer Penn State has on either side of the ball as it enters the postseason.

Bump.

Great video. Carter leads the Big 10 in sacks and TFLs. That's awesome work by him and Barnes. I'd be curious to hear Codutti talk about the work our others do to get Carter in these 1v1s. DTs intentionally slanting into a double team. LBs staying back to fill and retain pass defense responsibilities.

The LT, Herron, was a portal gain / loss last winter. Roye was on that line too, not sure if RG or RT. He did the swerve thing on his signing day. Retribution!

DDS played well too. He's just not an elite rusher. Reminds me of Oweh, but I think he could add size and be a 3-4 DE/Outside DT in the NFL.

Xavier Gillam (#54) looked strong at DT on his one snap of the video. Beat his man inside and could have gotten the sack if Carter didn't win so fast.

These analysis always kind of overlook the quality of opposition though. He has played well, but since Ohio State he's feasted on Washington, Purdue and Maryland who didn't have power-5-caliber OLs. And against Maryland he had a healthy Dennis-Sutton crushing the other side. This weekend is a real good test for both of them. If Carter can be a difference maker against a very good Oregon OL, then he deserves all the accolades.

And this is while being held on an every play basis (especially in Conf Games) which the b2g clown crews refused to call - I don't know how many Offensive Holds have been called on opposing b2g OL, but it's something close to zero.

Imagine what Carter's numbers would look like if he didn't have biased loser b2g hack Officials actively working to neutralize his impact on the game.

Courtney Brown and Lavar got the same treatment in their day. I believe neither one had a holding call made against them at any time during the 1999 season.

I'm pretty sure that #11 didn't draw a single Holding flag from the b2g hack, homer crews. He's arguably the most dominant Defensive Player in CFB and he didn't draw a single holding flag from the b2g loser douches despite being held on an every play basis, but still led the league in sacks (10.5) and TFL (19.5). Just staggering statistics considering he was held on an every play basis, but you have b2g shill a-holes coming on here claiming PSU games are called squarely.... complete joke that the best DL in the Country didn't draw a single flag from the b2g homer clown crews as evidenced by the numbers he still put up despite being held on an every play basis in this bushleague homer Conference.
