some of these are head scratchers but relative to PSU, I think that is about right. Clearly tOSU, UM and GA are head and shoulders above everyone else in 2022. I am not so sure about TCU but they are were in the dance so there you go. AL is AL. Tenn has some really good wins under their belt.

PSU's signature win was Utah. This is a good win but Utah is now a 4-loss team and naysayers will say their star QB got hurt which altered the game. Other than Utah, we didn't beat a team in the top 25. So I have to say that is a pretty fair assessment of our 2022 team. And #7 is a huge improvement over the last several years and a good ranking. But it isn't where we should aspire to be.

Agreed on PSU except we beat Minnesota who at 9-4 should be above 8-5 Texas and S. Car., 4 loss Fresno. and likely 9-4 Pitt and UCLA. Instead Minnesota is their 2nd team out. It's the same as a win over a ranked opponent and probably moreso considering it was sandwiched in between Michigan and Ohio St.

I might add that 8-5 Maryland who beat a ranked team to close and almost knocked off Ohio St is in the ballpark with other 8-5 ranked teams. I also don't get the difference between ranked 10-4 Fresno and unranked 10-4 Ohio.

17 out of top 25 either started the season unranked or dropped out during the season. Yet fans will get bent out of shape about early polls.

right...for PSU zero or One Loss and we will probably be in. Two losses we have a slight chance, especially if those two losses are to tOSU and UM as we won't have any showcase victories like this year. Anything worse than two losses and we are playing in a secondary bowl.

Looking ahead to next year, the B1G East is going to be a bloodbath as the handful of 2023 preseason polls - that I've seen so far - have PSU, OSU and UM in the top 7 or 8. A ton of great, young talent on all 3 squads

So, with all the teams that were not ranked in the preseason, that ended the year being ranked in the final poll, what does that say about the validity of the preseason coaches poll? Or any other week that the poll is issued? And then, what about the opinions of other people who wait with baited breath for the poll to come out?
