best part of this is how Pitt fans were thumping their chests after their Top 10 finish in the Fall...only to score a Blutarsky in the Spring

Spring sports really kill us. Way below almost everyone in the top twenty.
Also, PSU used to pick up a lot of points with the women’s sports, but that’s really gone downhill lately. This past weekend, I was watching the College World Series, and the All Sports standings were shown; the PSU men’s sports were in the top 5, but the PSU women’s sports weren’t.

I’m still ecstatic with how the year went. We were “thumping our chests” because our athletic department as a whole has been more-or-less a dumpster fire prior to Heather Lyke taking over the AD position. A top ten finish, even for just the fall sports, was mind-boggling to us who follow the Olympic sports.

The bulk of your Fall points came from 2 sports, soccer and volleyball. After the leaves fell, you went back to being the dumpster fire.

You can choose to view it that way. The football team won nine games and men’s basketball returned to the NCAA Tournament. Not to mention Nino Bonaccorsi won a national championship. I’d hardly call that a dumpster fire, considering where most of our Olympic sports were at one point. I’m very proud of the way they represented the University of Pittsburgh.
