I just learned that the vast majority of renters in this county quit paying their water/sewer bill:
- Landlords have contracts that say renters owe utilities, water/sewer included
- County realized renters were more often than not, late of not paying for W/S
- In the County's infinite wizdom, they decided to make the landlord's responsible for the W/S bill. Renters learned this and today, more than 80% simply quit paying their W/S bills despite this being in their contracts
- Landlords pushed back so the county, without telling anyone, added these fees to the property tax bills without detailing it
- So Landlords were paying their renter's unpaid utilities through their property tax bills without knowing it for two years.
