Five Lions make B1G all Bowl Team

Conference All Bowl Team? Like the folks at ESPN don't have more pressing things that should demand their attention, like a college football championship game that had lower ratings than last year's.

Ummmm... it's a shame the ratings were lower, because that was a thriller of a game..

Just my opinion, but I think by the time the college football playoff game rolls around, the general public is pretty worn out on cfb and is focused on NFL playoffs and other sports.

Good observation with emphasis on "worn out." I'd venture to guess that having the same teams in the final and that three of the four have been there before were also contributing factors.

"Monday night at midnight" ain't a great way to make the product "viewer friendly" (even though I know there are other time zones and scheduling issues)

Add in the "make your ears bleed" inanity of Fowler and Kirky......and its a tough sell - even when the game itself is outstanding.

So much more enjoyable to watch it on the "replay"......without the incessant commercials, without all the tangential crapola and talking heads, and with Fowler and Kirky muted (ESPECIALLY with Fowler and Kirky muted)

"College football playoffs"?

When was that? That could be interesting.....unhappy I missed it.

To be sure. Sat there watching two, maybe more, minutes of commercials while they were doing an instant replay review and could only think WTF.. Guess when there are bills to be paid programming takes a back seat. As the end neared I almost didn't care about the outcome, I just wanted it to be over.

LOL...very true....but isn't that corporate America? They can't just do well and leave it at that, they have to do better than last year. So they continue to add crap to the point where it is way over produced and way too long. The World Series ended at 2am in EST. The Super Bowl has the same problems. Go to any NBA game and listen to the ridiculous announcing and piped in music while the team plays. Its like the game has taken a back seat.

yeah...if you ever get into a discussion with a Euro, or just a soccer fan, they point to this. As we've seen this year, you can watch a PSU football game in an hour if you cut out all of the BS. Now, I get it, the adds allow me to watch for free so there's that.

This year and last, when I could, I'd DVR the PSU game until the first quarter or so. I'd then watch from the beginning, zipping through the commercials and most of halftime (I might watch a little if something in the first half dictated it). I then catch up somewhere early in the fourth quarter and watch the end live. Its much more enjoyable. (can't participate on here though!)

Watched some of the first quarter, fell asleep (bored I guess). Alabama was up by 14. Woke up went to bed. Really surprised this morning.
