the bulk of the broadcast is about the Marable and Green arbitration decision.

they also spend a good bit of time discussing Stevan Micic. Vais thinks he's the biggest talent that will decide this summer. Willie doesn't disagree, but points out the challenges/downside for each team with whom he would sign. You'll enjoy Willie's challenge regarding PSU.

you can access the Flo Radio podcast at THIS LINK. The Micic info and discussion takes place at the 38 minute mark.

Haven't listened, so excuse this post if I am totally off base. Do in conference transfers in all sports have the same caveat? No scholarship money.

Actually the BIG changed the rules several years ago. In conference transfers can now receive ship money but they must sit out a year and LOSE a year of eligibility so Micic would only have 3 years of eligibility. However, according to the interview he's OK with that.

Per Big Ten Rule 15.01.5 (Intraconference Transfer Rules):

"A student-athlete that has signed a tender from a Conference institution and has triggered transfer status per NCAA Bylaw 14.5.2 (conditions affecting transfer status), may not represent an alternate Big Ten institution in intercollegiate athletics competition until the individual has completed one (1) full academic year of residence at the alternate (i.e., certifying) Big Ten institution and shall be charged with the loss of one (1) season of eligibility in all sports."

(For clarification, NCAA Bylaw 14.5.2 basically says an athletes reaches that status if they a) enroll full-time and attend classes on opening day, or b) report for regular squad practice, or c) receives financial aid during summer term prior to initial enrollment.)

Your question also asked about scholarship money. I don't see anything in the rules preventing the athlete that transfers from receiving scholarship money, but I'm not certain of the rules about scholarships. Edit: NoVa's answer seems to address this issue, and is what I thought was the case (that the B1G changed their rules around 2011 so that transfer athletes could receive scholarships, just not compete for a year).

Willie, sounds like you're having a hard time figuring out which non-Iowa school to steer Micic to.

I'm here to help:

I think he makes a ton of sense for Penn State if he really doesn't care about losing a year.

Does Micic project as a career 125? Would this Impact Lee next recruiting season? Just some thoughts

That's the catch. If Micic doesn't have the frame to move up to 133, recruiting Spenser Lee wouldn't make much sense because he appears to be a career 125. My opinion, if Micic is interested in PSU you absolutely grab him, elite talent that would fit perfectly into future plans. Missing out on Lee would be unfortunate but there is no guarantee he would end up at PSU anyway and as the saying goes, a bird in the hand.

Why would we have to lose out on Lee? If he shirts, there's only 1 year of overlap. Surely one of them could go 133 for one year -- just ask Jordan Conaway, who overlapped with Nico for 5 years.

As I said, if Micic can bump up naturally, then there really isn't a problem although that could create an adverse domino affect for whoever is at 133 and 141. Certainly would be a good problem to have……..oh and El-Jefe, don't call me Shirley.

I finally listened to the podcast and they mention several times they think Micic is a full ride kind of guy. However, they never mentioned that at this late date I would guess that most teams have all (or at least close to all) of their ship money for the 2015-16 season committed. Would be nice for them to get an interview with Micic and ask him how important ship money for THIS season is in making his decision.
