Flo took 10 states, and using NCAA D1, D2, and D3 as well as NJCAA results, assembled a team from each state to answer the question listed in the Subject line.

The findings shouldn't be a huge surprise.

FWIW, it would not surprise me to see CA move up in future years.

You can see the article and the teams/state at THIS LINK.

Not unsurprisingly, Ohio (err Buckeye) fans are up in arms. While I think they have a case this year with the Flo state ranking at issue, given that that football fan base automatically assumes dominance in everything (e.g. Having a good linebacker and immediately claiming that they are now Linebacker U), it's no wonder the wrestling fan base is following suit. Hopefully our restocked team nips their exuberance in the bud next year or they could become as insufferable as their mouth-breathing, jersey-wearing, Coors Light drinking football fans - complete with stupid nicknames for every single athlete they have.

We have our own crazies annoying other on national wrestling boards, but they haven't seen anything like a plague of braying Buckeye fans.

All you have to look at is depth. Our second team would compete for the top spot.

Could it not be pretty competitive though? I think Ohio has a good case to be number 1. I could easily see them winning 125, 141, 149, 157, and 165. That's five weights right there.

133 Taylor looked pretty good all year, Schopp has the edge, but I think it would be a tough match.
174 favors Wilps
184 I think this match could be competitive, but obvious lean Brown
197 Both aren't world beaters
285 clear PA.

I don't think it's crazy to say Ohio would win the dual, in fact with BoJo and Stieber, there's a chance at least one, maybe to score bonus.

Just something to think about.

Oh I agree about this year - that's why I said they had a case. I'm actually surprised Flo went with Pa this year (really bro?:)), but maybe they did it to drive traffic from the Ohio faithful.

I understand what you are saying and don't disagree with you, But I would imagine they are going by tournament Scoring and probably using their current performance at NCAA as the Points they are adding.

The Fact is, 2 of Ohio's Champions are not going to widen the gap as much as you think as PA had 2nd place points at 125 and 141. Now looking at the other finishes, in Tournament Scoring that puts PA on top...Pa has the More Balanced tournament Team.......In a Dual Situation...Completely agree with you.
