Mods you may move this if I am posting in the wrong place.

Just want others to be aware.

My experience signing up with Flo Wrestling concluded their billing practice is very deceptive. Their webpage indicates $12.50 a month cancellable at any time. I went through the subscribing process only to find I was billed $150 for the year and not $12.50 a month as expected.

I emailed them with my concern explaining I wanted monthly billing as advertised. I received an email response indicating they changed my subscription to monthly and the monthly charge is $29.99 a month. Never did I authorize or commit to the $29.99 a month. And the $29.99 was never disclosed on their website.

Of course I called my cc company and am disputing all charges with Flo Wrestling.

It's a shame because I heard good things about their wrestling coverage. If they were not deceptive about their billing practices and upfront about the costs, I would be a subscriber. But I can't support them as they were very deceptive.

An internet search brings up many concerns over their billing practice. I wonder how many customers they lost because they were not upfront with customers.

Ive had Flo for years, it usually just takes the yearly payment out in Jan. I got a new CC so the one they tried to bill didnt process. Im going to try my best not to renew but its hard when they carry tournaments I want to watch.

I’m in the same mindset. Not sure I want it, but the sheer volume of wrestling that they can bring to you makes it hard to turn away.

It says "Plans from 12.50 a month"......obviously indicating more than one plan is available The 12.50 per month plan is available if you pay for the full year at once. Most things are cheaper when you purchase more. In this case it is more months. 150.00 per year is a great deal in my opinion. FLO keeps adding more content...duals....tournaments...etc.....but is still 150.00 per year. Name one Video or TV service that hasn't raised their rates in 3 years. Now name one that has added noticeably more content and still didn't raise their rates. I am quite frugal but even I won't complain about FLO's rates.

My issue is Flo Wrestling's pricing is deceptive and not transparent. When you initially sign up and enter all your information their site does not tell you how much you are being charged and for what period of time nor does it give you any payments options. It automatically charges you $150. Their site does not indicate the $12.50 per month plan is the average of the $150 upfront fee not does it ever indicate $29.99 is the charge if billed monthly which I found out threw email correspondence.

I personally cannot do business with a company with deceptive non-transparent pricing no matter how great their product or service may be.

I am posting this so others are aware and now have transparency into Flo Wrestling's pricing.

I had the same thing happen. Not sure if it is as poster above says but it clearly looked like 12.50/mth. I do like the subscription but may not renew just out of principle. I think the app sucks.

I understand there are complaints.....BUT....when I read their "plan" I had no problem seeing that if I was wanting to watch more than 5 months of FLO.....that I was better off paying for the entire year. With the numerous High School tournaments in the spring, summer and fall PLUS the international tournaments.....why wouldn't I want 6 months or more.....hence the 150.00/yr. or 5 months at 29.99/mo. 12 months for the price of 5. Seriously.....pretty simple math as far as I can see. NOW.....would I suggest that FLO list their costs as "29.99/month OR 12 months for 150.00".....That is ONLY 12.50/Month...….YES......ABSOLUTELY......I think most people would jump at the savings if they sign up for the full year rather than complain. So......just because you didn't understand what "plans from 12.50/month" actually meant is not really a reason to turn down a FULL year for 150.00 (or 12.50/month). YES......I would prefer it be fully spelled out as far as the options......but...if you like wrestling content......12.50/month is a heck of a deal. Pay the 150.00 and enjoy all the wrestling content is my humble suggestion :). I am unfortunately not being paid by FLO. I am retired on a fixed income....and pissed because Willie is gone......but I will still pay the 150.00/year for what is.....without argument.....the best wrestling video content currently available. Peace

I understand your complaints around the lack of communication but it really doesn’t make any impact on my using the service. I have been using flow for the last couple of years and find it a great value for die hard wrestling fans. Last night I watched two matches (penn state and the IowA match). It is the best value in my entertainment budget when I look at $ per hour of enjoyment (since this may be a family site won’t even touch the significant amount of money on some of the other activities). Bottom line break it down to cost of hour used and the enjoyment from that.

Everyone is talking about content but noone is talking about the heart of the matter! All this billing bad blood. Flo's biggest, and most costliest event now is their court tv.

They need the cash now!! If they don't get it through their marketing ways we could see them having their own Thon marathon in Easton, Pa.:eek:

Full disclosure, I have their service, loved Flo radio, have not listen to it since Willie left. What I like best is Flo Arena for when I'm busy and can just focus on this team or individual. I know Flo Arena is free but it is a lost leader for Flo and without mine and other funds it goes away.

I don't have billing issues and pay $20/mo.. My problem with flo is their technology should be better. For example, now the mobile app randomly 'sigs off' during FRL and I have to sign in and start over - hassle when driving thus not listening to FRL lately. Their app and how they push their product should be continuously improved.
Still - if your're a wrestling sports fan - not sure if there is an alternative.

It’s a bait and switch and always has been. They advertise a monthly price and charge a full year. It’s one of the reasons Flo is a shit company. People can defend Flo if they want but they are terrible. This is par for the course for them.

$150.00 a year for flowrestling is the best $150.00 I spend every year. You get wrestling all season long and so much more. When I joined flo a few years ago I feel it was clear to me that it was $12.50 a month if I joined for the year and X amount of dollars if I only wanted the college season. Maybe they're more deceptive now? I would just say I love wrestling and I personally don't feel you can get a better deal to watch thousands of wrestling matches, films, interviews and much more. No I don't work for them, just love the access to wrestling flo gives me.

Everyone does it. If you are not a Prime member and order something on Amazon, if you don't pay attention you wind up enrolling in something you don't want. I think Flo is the best think that has happened to wrestling.

i just don't know why they make it so hard to switch between flo sites. like, just put a little drop down so i can get to flohockey directly from flowrestling without typing it into my browser.

But it’s not $12.50/month. It’s a $150/year one-time payment which averages out to $12.50 a month. No one’s really arguing that it’s not worth that in this thread. But not everyone wants to pay $150 up front. IMO the “cancel anytime” verbiage is the most deceptive. Of course you can cancel anytime, because you’ve already paid for the whole year. Then from what I’ve heard if you want any of it back you have to fight for it.

The trick seems to be to join one of the other sites and you should still have access to wrestling. When you go to sign up for Flowrestling, it doesn’t even show a monthly option, but it does for most of the others with most being $29.99/month. FloFootball appears to be among the lowest at $19.99/month.

In my situation I most likely would have subscribed at the $150 if they were transparent in their pricing. But they weren't and I felt they were pulling a fast one. I cannot support such a business.

I wonder how many customers they've lost due to being deceptive. My belief is they'd be much better off being transparent with customers and their reputation would significantly improve.

Maybe Flo trying to get back some of the lawyer and court costs of going to battle with Smalls?

I’m assuming this is sarcasm due to the recency but in some cases they may have gotten even more deceptive, such as no longer even offering the $29.99 monthly option for wrestling, and apparently charging different prices for supposedly the same product.

I agree being deceptive is wrong. Again when I joined I felt it was clear to me that a 1 year was $150.00 and monthly was a different price. Sad if they are deceiving people now.

Flo billing issues like flo streaming issues should be pinned with the bobblehead, release of the schedule, and bronze vs gold post season qualification standards

You’re correct... in the beginning, Flo was very clear about their subscription costs, monthly vs full year. At some point, 2-3 years ago, it all changed to be much more deceptive and unclear what the cost is. Most companies become less deceptive as they grow... makes you wonder how healthy Flo’s balance sheet is. It’s pretty obvious they’re not investing in updating any kind of technology.
