Flo wrestling: Suriano and Cael talking .

Seems more like the parents are talking to the AD in State College while Nick stayed by in NJ according to reports.

No doubt in my mind Nick's parents are creating the issue for Nick. In kid's sports almost all the drama is driving by the parents.

Seems like that would have been a good thing to do months ago...

I think the Surianos were misled about the process of transferring within the B1G and the realization that Nick was going to lose a year of competition if he did transfer finally hit home. No proof about that, but it sure seems that way.

I remember when my brother and I were on some mountain road back of Renovo in the snow and we came upon a guy stuck in the snow and mud in his Ford. He almost said no to being pulled out by my brothers Chevy. I think the prospect of all night on the mountain changed his mind....but he almost told us to forget it.

I have some advice...never ever turn down help...you never know who may be there to help you. Lol. Back in the late 80s, I hadn't had my drivers license all that long, I got a flat tire along a country road near Johnstown. I was changing the tire and some guy out jogging stopped and asked me if I needed a hand. Without looking up I said naw....I can handle it. He asked if I was sure and as I looked up to tell him thank you but I got it the man was non other than Charles Bronson. Yeah... the movie star Charles Bronson. I almost shit a brick. Lol

That night I was telling my mom and dad what happened and they didn't seem to be that excited like I was. Turned out Bronson was born and raised in the area. I hadn't known that prior to this happening and I think he was in for a family funeral. Then my mom goes on to tell me he went to school with my grandmother. Charles and her older brother were friends and was at her house all the time. I asked my grandmother about it and she told me she didn't like him very much because Charles and her brother always picked on her. Lol.

Renovo... you from that area Gebmo? I've spent some time driving around those back roads.

No, from down near Philly, but my Dad was from Lock Haven, and my grandfather had a hunting cabin just past Hyner, so we fished and traipsed all over the mountains in those parts. I'm sure you and I hit a lot of the same ground.

Floated down the river toward the Haven a time or two with a bunch of rafts and a few cases of beer too....back in the day. ;)

Yep. You can see it from 219. It's where my grandma grew up. Forest Hills school district although back then I think it was called something else.... Triangle or maybe Adams Township.

Just not the story I expected from this thread.way-extremely-cool story. I taught yoga to Tom Brady for couple of years and didn't know who he was for most of that time.... this is cooler

Good.. another Suriano thread... ;-)...

I so want this to have a finality to it.. haha
No. A long drawn out drama is always fun.
Next time we should have a contest to guess the outcome and winner gets a trip of their choice to any of the visited areas in the thread.
I do not know if you would have posted your pictures or not if not for the tangents that thread occasionally took (still to take probably).
Everything offers teaching moments. I enjoyed learning about Iceland.

How do we get rid of the non-wrestling nonsense?

It will eventually destroy this board, imo.
It's not as if there's been actual wrestling to talk about. The alternative to non-wrestling posts isn't wrestling posts, it's no posts at all. Or, of course, Talmudic dissections of the B1G intra-conference rule. Short menu, take it or leave it.

It's always those that contribute nothing to the board that complain the most....

Oh and by the way, I'm a nerd, don't get out much and all my friends are married/kids and usually grounded from hanging out with me. So all your vacation pics, stories about friends and family and other off topic stuff is greatly appreciated.....especially during the offseason.

Is that code talk for "I'm in the pen"?
Just remember, hope is a dangerous thing my friend, it can kill a man... ;)

Great story. I think my dad ran into him once too. He grew up in South Fork. Not sure how true this is but I always heard his family few up dirt poor. Makes me wonder how he eventually got out and made it to Hollywood.

It's 1979 , I'm attending Bloomsburg for my 1 year of fun. I go to Bloomsburg fair and a big man accidentally bumps into as her was looking at a display. He says sorry and I look up and recognize him from some cowboy movies and say, "No problem Mr. Palance". It's kind of odd 2 of more rugged actors from that time , Jack Palance and Charles Bronson we're PA guys. I know Palance was from Hazelton and worked in coal mines.

I guess it was. Lol. I actually had a minute of fame once that was pretty cool. I somehow got bombarded with visitors on a hotel elevator in the late 90s... Nashville Tn. BritneySpears and her entourage got hearded into one that I was already on. On the way down I was the only one that said anything....

"Here's another story that all my friends are gonna think is a crock of shit...". I know, kinda lame but it did draw a chuckle from Britney. Lol

Not sure about ruggedness, and about 10 years older than the two mentioned, by Jimmy Stewart is, of course, from Western PA. He was a WW2 Bomber pilot though...
