Florida State football reportedly bans players from bars after recent incidents

Just more double-talk obfuscation by 'ole Free Shoes U. Do tell, what exactly is the punishment going to be if they go to a bar and how precisely is 'Ole Jimbo and Free Shoes U going to enforce such a ludicrous rule??? Are they still allowed to go to parties - why precisely could such violent altercations not happen at parties between Criminoles football players and women at parties? The "law of unintended consequences" suggests that this silly statement by 'Ole Jimbo, Thrasher and Free Shoes U probably puts Campus Co-Eds in more danger because mercenary Criminole thug football players are more likely to go to general student population parties now that the school has banned them from partying and socializing in Public Houses.

Beyond all that, this horse$hit that Free Shoes U was completely unaware that these kids were anything but upstanding citizens is complete poppycock and knowingly false BS -- Free Shoes U leads the nation in incidence of violence against women incidents since 2009 as reports have shown and these "kids" like Jameis Winston, Dalvin Cook, etc... have long rap-sheets with the law from the day they first set foot on Free Shoes U's campus. How about Cook only being suspended and not being reported by Free Shoes U and 'Ole Jimbo until several days after De'Andre Johnson was kicked off the team for the same offense despite Dalvin Cook being turned into the Tallahassee Police Department on a 911 registered CRIMINAL COMPLAINT supported by witnesses and pictures almost 2 days prior (his incident happened in wee hours of 7/23 - 2:45am, while De'Andre Johnson's incident didn't happen until late on the evening of 7/24)? Cook is still only suspended despite this being his THIRD ARREST BY TALLAHASSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT SINCE HE HAS BEEN ON CAMPUS IN JUNE 2014 (e.g., a year) including an incident in July 2014 which included Dalvin Cook threatening another citizen with lethal force via threatening the party with a handgun - a handgun that he did not have a license for (e.g., an illegal gun)!?!? Somehow he managed to be Free Shoes U's starting RB last year even despite all that and now he is only "suspended" while De'Andre Johnson has been kicked off the team despite having numerous prior offenses???

Here's 'Ole Jimbo's quote and Thrasher's pablum excerpted from article linked above:

************************************************************
"We spend a good deal of time educating our student-athletes about appropriate behavior and their responsibilities as representatives of Florida State. The majority of our players are exemplary, but clearly we must place an even stronger emphasis on this," coach Jimbo Fisher said in a statement released by the school.

"I remain committed to educating our young men and holding them accountable for their actions," Fisher said. "We will do better. I will not tolerate anything less."

University President John Thrasher said he has asked Fisher and the school's athletics director to develop a plan to help the school's athlete's understand the consequences of their actions.
***********************************************************

Given Dalvin Cook's track record and repeated run-ins with the law involving menacing and threatening behavior which is a "clear and present danger" to the FSU Co-Eds, the FSU Campus and the Tallahassee Community in general, these statements are provably INTENTIONALLY FALSE and put out there as nothing but pablum to deflect where the responsibility and accountability belong - Free Shoes University and its administrators who have put their student populace AT RISK again and again without regard to student welfare (take a look at how Jameis Winston affair and 911 call associated with it was handled by Free Shoes U Campus Police Department) all done in the name of using thug fraud-student mercenaries to win football games! But still not a peep out of hypocrite Emmert and the NCAA on these incidents despite it being plastered all over the national media just like Jameis Winston was last year including headlines that read "Florida State Football has a violence against women problem"....

Bushwood, the dam has finally broke. FSU finally must make an effort to stop the violence and Jimbo must step up. Don't ever expect Emmert to stand firm against sexual assault and other violence...will never happen.

Yes, I drank under the age of 21 but what is the drinking age in Florida? If 21, how are all these underage football players doing in bars?

This article makes some good points about how ridiculous 'Ole Jimbo's "steps he's taken" are, just as I pointed out in the OP. Link to article below:

Report: Bars Now Off Limits For Florida State Football Players

The responses to this Tallahassee Democrat cheerleading sportswriter's tweet attempting to put a positive spin on 'Ole Jimbo's, Thrasher's and Free Shoe's U's statement on "steps being taken" are really comical - see link below:

This used to be Miami, odd that much of this seems to be a Florida school problem ?

Dare I bring up the all the investigative reports that suggested Urban Meyer's teams at Florida were loaded with violent, fraud-student, criminal thugs? Apparently Urbie and UF's athletic department were actively squelching this stuff and keeping it under wraps by hiring the "kids" lawyers, getting the local State Attorney, who is a UF Booster to drop charges, etc.... After Aaron Hernandez was accussed of murder, it came to light that he was involved in numerous criminal investigations during his time at Florida (including a hit-&-run murder investigation) - texted pictures and tweets from Hernandez's days at Florida where he had himself photographed brandishing guns and acting like a "gang'sta" were also reported, etc....

Let's see, backup player gets dismissed, star player with multiple incidents will be back. Remind you of anyone else from FSU?

During my time at PSU, the O-Line was sitting to a table next to us at a local watering hole. I bought them a pitcher because I was so impressed with how nice they were.

Yet 'Ole Jimbo and the their mush-mouth President keep releasing statements saying how they have never tolerated such behavior and they aren't going to start tolerating it now???? Sounds like they're from the "some cookies" school of spin and bull$hit PR Campaign solutions -- e.g., self-serving, laughable nonsense from corrupt, zero-accountability, self-interested scumbags cut from the same clothe as the scum that has hijacked PSU's Board of Directors and Senior Administration.

An admitted NCAA violation from a football booster. Emmert has been notified.

Back in the day, Matt Suhey....younger than I by a couple of years,, but looking about 10 years older....was a regular with his crowd at Village Inn Pizza for a beer and pizza night special. It always seemed like he was the only FB player at his table of 8 or 9...just a gathering of friends. And, of course, he was a true local. Just another customer. And, no thuggish whackiness in the entire room.

Here is the latest on Free Shoes U from The Florida Times Union (Jacksonville) - see link below:

Gene Frenette: Negative spotlight on FSU, Jimbo Fisher will be magnified

Here is a quote excerpted directly from the article:

************************************************************
“This is really antisocial, criminal behavior that isn’t normal. This is way out of bounds,” said Jacksonville attorney Nancy Hogshead-Makar, a Title IX and women’s advocate. “It makes you wonder what kind of environment you have that allows these kids to think that’s OK."
*************************************************************

Gee and go figure, Free Shoes U is already under Title IX Investigation and lawsuit via the Jameis Winston incident -- as this attorney who specializes in Title IX advocacy points out the environment that 'Ole Jimbo has created should really help the school's case.....NOT!

If he wanted to be really tough they would have been made to clean two sections of the stadium for two weeks then stop after two games. Just like the stadium cleaning this is just another attempt by coaches to soothe the media fire storm.

Emmert's Ruling: Canuckhal was a student at the time and thus not a boost... huh? This was at Penn State? An obvious example of a football culture run amok!
