A question/answer about Mark Hall, a question and answer that includes the PSU singlet, and an answer that promotes the PSU - Iowa dual.

Week 5, and despite promises he tweeted, no response to Flo's article about Olympic reffing corruption from Foley. Foley will be "motorcycling through Patagonia for the next few weeks," so perhaps the delay will be much longer.

You can access the Mailbag at THIS LINK.

Perhaps there might be some Foley-ian "chicanery!!

I agree with foley on the mark hall sitting- he will feel like a caged animal. Red shirting these elite guys might be a thing of the past.

has foley been talking with Kanye about fashion?

Foley lives 3.5 hrs from Iowa City (in Chicago), yet has never been there despite being a professional sports journalist.

Apparently CHA is less appealing than releasing his inner Che Guevara.

Foley's been living in NYC for the past few years. I think the last time he lived in Chicago was just before the CPOW/Save Olympic Wrestling thing.

What Foley doesn't attempt to understand (I know, long list) is that Cael and Hall mapped out Hall's career trajectory before he committed. He knew exactly what his path would be, and how/why/when it might diverge. And he agreed to it.

He could ask about starting but will ultimately trust Cael to make the right decision.

My mistake... though still he couldn't get to IC when living that close?

Well, I live about 5 hours north, one time coming back home from the Iowa-PSU dual, it did take me 10 hours -- over two days -- could be traffic? ;)

I know how bad Chicago traffic can be, in or out. Driving in third world cities is more appealing.

That said, pretty sure IC has hotels, as do points between.

Just read his mark hall comment....maybe it's the central pa in me.....but even when I agree w foley I can still picture him w a black eye

Yeah, but...........The caged animal thing might get Wreck into the line up. He just had a great year. I see pictures of him in the room and to me he seems to exude leadership. I get the plan thing but sitting will be tough on him.

If that actually got him in the lineup, then why not question the balls on any guy who ever shirted?

Sure, it'll be hard on Hall ... but harder than telling senior 2x national finalist Nico Megaludis that he's not getting another crack at Delgado? Come on.

The only way Cael pulls Hall's shirt is if he's truly needed (not just perceived by the fans) to win the national title. Barring injury, hard to see that when we're projected at a close #2 without bonus points, with an unranked 125 who will finish mid-to-high AA, and several other guys who will finish higher than their rankings (or non-rankings).

I get it, but every year the fans call for Cael to pull (fill in the blank)'s shirt, and every year Cael disappoints the fans and wins a national title.

The problem is fans voice their opinions based on their feelings and what they perceive as the short term benefit to the team without looking at the long term benefits. Assuming Rasheed/Morelli finish AA this year, say 6th the benefit of Hall finishing say 2nd helps, but is it needed? Long term benefit is Hall as a RS Senior is not only an NCAA champ but probably scores a ton of bonus points that season.

Long story short I will trust Cael, etal to make the best decision for the team and assume the arm chair QBs on the message boards are pretty much clueless.
