Zain and Bo are mentioned in a question, and Zain is mentioned in an answer

For those keeping track, this is week 140, and despite promises he tweeted, no response to Flo's article about Olympic reffing corruption from Foley.

Mike C is slipping a bit, as this week he only got 2 of the 7 questions.

You can access this week's Mailbag at THIS LINK

Fwiw I think you may be the only one keeping track.

It's interesting how so many people are obsessed with T.R. Foley. It's almost pathological and it is certainly political.

I can say that I read his articles and agree with some of his points and disagree with others views. That said.....I have absolutely no clue what his politics are. Does that mean I am clueless and stupid? Or does it mean that I am looking at his views as it pertains to wrestling opinions independently of opinions on politics? You seem to be using a very wide brush quite inappropriately.

Well, it's good to know you are mainly interested in his points, claims, ideas and arguments about wrestling. I said "so many people" and that by its very nature doesn't mean everyone. But if you follow some of these threads here and on other forums, you will absolutely see that there is a near-obsession with anyone (particularly Foley) who is to the left of Atilla the Hun and critical of the powers-that-be, especially nationalist tendencies that relate to wrestling and related issues.

It’s not Foley’s politics.

It’s the stupid shit out of his mouth:

“Mark Hall lacks ways to score offensively” (before Hall wins NCAA title)

“Folkstyle is hampering Team USA on the world stage” (before USA wins the World Championships in 2017)

And the classic:
“Iran is safer than Iowa City”

Also, if I’m not mistaken, it’s been 140 weeks since he said he would comment on apparent Olympic reffing corruption, for which his employer would bear some responsibility, and yet he did not. For a guy who pontificates about what is good for wrestling all day long (e.g., killing folkstyle), how can he turn a blind eye to blatant cheating?

I want to spend more likes on this post.

(And it is also his stoopid politics....)

DMM is mostly a good poster on this board. However, the first thing you should do is check the time stamp. If he's posting after 11:00 PM, it's either fatigue or wine taking over.

In all seriousness DMM, I really think you're reading too much into the fun we have at Foley's expense. I promise you, I poke fun because he makes it easy to do so with a lot of really, demonstrably bad takes. I do find myself agreeing with him sometimes. In either case--it has little to do with politics, unless "Singlets vs. Compression Shorts" is a political debate, in which case, burn that dude at the stake.

Another eye-roller: NCAA seeding is inferior to UWW seeding.

Frankly, I'm surprised that his solution to replays isn't either add the pushout or kill the singlet.
