Is there any chance - - if Pat C were to "move on" from one of the current upperclassmen - - that there are any "helpful" prospects still available that PSU could bring in next year?

Any "grad-transfer" types? (I am not sure if that is even a "thing" for Hoops)

Thinking that a 1/2 way legit Shooting "2", or Defense and Rebounding "4" could be a big help for next year

It's probably going to be too late in the cycle to pick up any high school talent for 2017 unless they go with another diamond in the rough type like Buttrick. More likely at this point is to trade a grad transfer on our end (i.e. a player leaving our program) for someone else's grad transfer. Players from other schools going down that route don't usually become apparent until April and into the summer. But until one of our guys decides to leave, we won't be in the market- which is actually quite extensive. There are a couple guys on our end that you can speculate who might consider finding greener pastures, but until that happens - and until the market as a whole shakes itself out over the next few months - it's not really worth speculating about quite yet.

Edit: just for clarification, this summer is going to be focused hugely on the staff recruiting 2018 kids who will sign this fall rather than players who will arrive to camp for 2017-18. I believe we will have something along the lines of 4 scholarships available, with one being taken by 4 star SG Myles Dread from DC. We're probably the favorite, too, at this point for 4 star Westtown PF Jake Forrester, who's originally from Harrisburg. There's a lot of talent for 2018 that has legitimate interest in Penn State, and it'll be a really important class for the program going forward.

Chambers has got to score big with the 2018 recruits. He has to make changes with current coaching staff, roster and try and find a dependable, or two, shooter. I don't think we are favored for Forrester. Last I heard, PSU was most involved with two guards, Cohill and Carmondy, and a big man, Littles to go wth Myles Dread.

PSU needs some big men in 2018. When Watkins is out, the Lions falter. Hopefully Pierce will
help next year.
