For those traveling to Rutgers for the FB game

141 will be the marquee match, Anthony Ashnault vs highly touted RS freshman Matt Kolodzik (via Blair Academy). Kolodzik beat Ashnault in last years Midlands Tourny.
Ashnault will be coming off a tough match 2 weeks earlier at the ALL STAR CLASSIC.

Rutgers wrestling will have a match against Princeton in the football stadium at 11:00AM prior to the football game. They are attempting to break last seasons attendance record in one match. They are calling the match "Battle at the Birthplace".

I wonder if they will be wearing scuba suits for this event? You would want to wrestle seven minutes as fast as you could, just so you didn't let that cold air won't cramp ya up!

I hear the Rutgers tickets office has a special discount for Penn Staters, just enter the code CRUISELINER.

At the risk of receiving an enormous amount of grief, I have to ask: What's this a reference to?

Rutgers fan Creedo posted on their board during the offseason that a PSU wrestler was transferring there, and the name would make us "poop a cruiseliner." Needless to say, it never materialized.

Thanks El-Jefe; I remember the rumor well, but not the cruiseliner part. Well done.

Y'all may want to strap your headgear on if your going to the Rutgers game. My wife and I had the worst experience at the game two years ago that we've ever had at any away game. That includes Pitt and West Virginia and if you're old enough, you can remember how bad those away games could be, you may actually poop a cruiseliner when you get a load of their students.

Actually, they split matches last year at Midlands...

Here's the dual comparison:

Should be a good match with some great head-to-heads

125- McCabe vs. Agaisse - Tough senior versus talented freshman
133- DelVecchio/Dippery vs. D'Arcy - Will be interesting to see if Dippery can get down. I think he could hold it at least for the early season, but even then he has to beat NQ DelVecchio coming off redshirt. I think Scott gets the nod. D'Arcy had a good freshman year at 25.
141- Ashnault vs. Kolodzik - the marquee matchup, should be a good one.
149- Theobold/Giraldo vs. Laster - Giraldo seems to be in a pickle, I think he can't cut anymore and Ashnault is the man at 41. Theobold is coming off redshirt and is a tough cookie. Laster is a former R12. This will be a great follow-up to 41.
157- Lewis vs. Innarella - Innarella is listed as a 49 but they don't have a 57 on the roster with Fabozzi off it. Lewis is an NQ Senior.
165- Pafumi/Van Brill vs. DeMoss - DeMoss is an incoming state champ from Illinois, Pafumi went 7-7 and Van Brill has had some good wins over the past (Beitz, Flournoy)
174- Bakuckas vs. Schleifer - Schleifer is a midlands finalist and two time NQ. Bakuckas is coming off an NQ season. Should be a solid match here.
184- Gravina vs. Murtha - Gravina really came on last year after bumping up 2 weights. Murtha is a Senior and probably bumping.
197- Correnti vs. Harner - Harner is a returning AA and fun to watch, Correnti a highly touted freshman who took down Jordan Wood.
HWT- Normandia vs. O'Donnell - Normandia is the guy Cassar beat to win his NJ Title, O'Donnell is a former PIAA Champ and NQ.

Lots of tough match-ups. Rutgers favorite at 25, 33, 57, 84, probably 65 although I think that's a toss-up. Princeton favorite at 74, 97, HWT. 41 and 49 tosses.

Not sure Correnti will be the 197. He's 220 NJ State Champ last year , not sure how his weight is, and Mulligan NJ 195 State Champ and Kremiller will be at ESSO as well. Top placer gets the West Coast starting spot, not sure if that will carry over to the Princeton match. Also Grello, NJ State Champ last year could also be better than Pafumi or Van Brill.
I hope that East Stroudburg tourny is on Flo or somewhere else.

Bump. Weather for the match should be high 50's to low 60's, light breeze, and dry. Should be a go.

What a difference a day makes. Sunday's high is forecast at 42 degrees here in SC, 48 in New Brunswick. Looks like a high Saturday of 63 degrees. Perfect planning!
