An amazing piece on a doctor working on Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and drug addiction.
This is the doctor that developed using brain implant to stop tremors from Parkinson’s that is now standard treatment for advanced Parkinson’s world wide.
He is now using focused sonogram waves to remove plaque grom brains suffering from Alzheimer’s and also treat drug addiction. First case treating drug addiction shown was a former tight end for Penn State by the name of Terry Buckwalter that became addicted after a shoulder injury.
In interview he said from very first pain pill he was addicted. Fifteen years and couldn’t quit, never went more than four days clean. One treatment and has been clean for nearly a year.
Highly experimental, only five people treated. Two clean, two had relapsed, one dropped out of study. Alzheimer’s research is equally early.
Dr is in Morgantown WV. Moved there because it is a small research center that doesn’t have a huge bureaucracy and can make quick decisions. Would be amazing if this works for all three major problems,
