Some of you might remember the name, Justin Wheeler, from Penn State as a backup LBer. Now head coach at Bishop Guilfoyle Altoona, he has his team in the Class A championship game again. After defeating Old Forge 43-13 tonight, the Mauraders are 31-0 the past 2 years and set to repeat title.
Down 13-3 at one point, they scored 40 unanswered points off several big plays, including 61yd and 93yd bombs, and a 35 yard play to the 1 off a double reverse pass. Pretty fun to watch, especially for a PSU fan deprived of offensive excitement. His defense is his main focus though, no team has scored more than 14 against his defense this year.
Coach Wheeler has really done a nice job at BG. Several years ago they were 1-8 before his arrival, he now has them at 9-3, 10-3, 16-0 and 15-0 with one game left in the past 4 seasons.
Good luck next week Justin and Bishop Guilfoyle.
